Off-Strip Resort with Restaurants, Pool & Spa

LVH – Las Vegas Hotel & Casino offers a powerful draw for sports fans—the SuperBook, one of the world's largest sportsbooks. At any given time, dozens of screens flash with all kinds of action, from baseball to martial arts to Olympic events. And you can bet on it all. The hotel complex also boasts a massive casino and an array of dining options, all within one monorail stop of the Strip.

In addition to a 74,000-square-foot casino with row upon row of slots (credit included) and gaming tables, the massive high-rise contains enough restaurants, bars, and shops to satisfy a small city. At the flagship eatery, Benihana, hibachi chefs prepare steak and lobster with theatrical flair. For a more casual meal, head to 888 Noodle Bar for Pan-Asian fare ranging from curry chicken to sea-bass stir-fry. Late-night cravings can be satisfied at the Paradise Café, where hearty dishes such as buttermilk pancakes and french-dip sandwiches are served until 1 a.m.

Despite all the activity, it’s tempting to spend all day lounging by the palm-lined pool, which features live DJs and drink specials on summer afternoons. Located next to the pool and tennis courts, the spa coaxes maximum relaxation out of every vacation (entry included in this deal). Up in the guest rooms you’ll have views of the Vegas Strip. Resorts club rooms come with access to an exclusive lounge, where a daily happy hour includes complimentary beer, wine, and cheese.

Las Vegas: The Strip Past and Present

In the mid-20th century, Vegas partiers lived it up on Fremont Street, known as Glitter Gulch thanks to its neon bulbs. Nowadays, the excitement has shifted to The Strip, a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard lined with 15 of the 25 largest resorts in the world. Some set themselves apart by imitating the architecture of Paris, Venice, New York City, or Giza, and others showcase live lions (MGM) or tigers (Mirage).

A network of recently added skywalks makes the entire length walkable, and the sidewalks offer entertainment of their own. Street performers roam freely, donning burmese pythons, extravagant headdresses, or superhero spandex. When you’re ready for the big stages (at smaller prices), seek out the half-price-ticket booths along The Strip or go directly to the box office the day of show for a possible discount.

  • Crystals at CityCenter

Angular, art-ridden shopping complex houses more than 38 boutiques representing preeminent fashion houses including Christian Dior, Prada, and Tom Ford.

  • The Atomic Testing Museum

Exhibits and programming cover everything from Oppenheimer's nuclear research to test detonations in the Nevada desert; the Ground Zero theater simulates a nuclear explosion.
