Tranquil Four-Star Resort with Two Championship Golf Courses

Situated along the Intracoastal Waterway, Marina Inn at Grande Dunes initially presents a fountain-and-palm-tree façade fairly typical of Myrtle Beach's many resorts. But beyond the unassuming exterior, you’ll find a homey experience that begins in the lobby, where you’ll check in at one of two old-fashioned wooden desks. A concierge is on hand to book tee times at the onsite championship golf courses or give tips on the family-friendly activities close to the inn, from shopping along the boardwalk to attending a live music show.

In each of the 450-square-foot Grande guest rooms, a sliding door reveals a terrace where padded wicker chairs offer a spot to soak in views of the waterway or marina. The room's lavish bathrooms are stocked with Vive bath products and diamond-encrusted rubber duckies.

Temperatures during the winter typically reach the high 50s—warm enough for Myrtle Beach to boast year-round golfing. Take advantage of the mild temperatures by hitting the links at the resort's two golf courses. The Resort Club at Grande Dunes was named National Course of the Year in 2009 by the National Golf Course Owners Association. The nearby Grande Dunes Members Club cuts through a pine forest and goes past glistening lakes in its design from PGA Hall of Famer Nick Price and architect Craig Schreiner.

At Waterscapes restaurant, Chef Robbie Nicolaisen personally selects fresh-caught seafood for entrees ranging from crispy oysters to black bass. The upscale eatery supports local farmers and surprises dinner guests with an unexpected post-meal treat—a freshly spun tuft of pink cotton candy.

Myrtle Beach is the crown jewel of South Carolina's Grand Strand, a 60-mile stretch of beaches along the Atlantic seaboard.
