Serene Waterways Surrounded by Spacious Condo Units

Park Shore Resort has its own series of scenic canals, and if you walk on wooden footbridges over the water you can find the resort’s eye-grabbing centerpiece. It’s a lagoon lined with palm trees, pink flowers, and lush vegetation, and it features a secluded gazebo. The whole 13-acre property is set up for little discoveries like this—you can walk trails that wind through sprawling botanical gardens and past waterfalls that cascade over rock walls. And while the resort has a private, quiet atmosphere, it’s also located close to upscale dining and shopping in Naples on Florida’s western coast.

On the aforementioned center lagoon, a diverse group of animals seems to have brokered an unlikely living arrangement: ducks swim on the pond, a cat prowls the area, and a 4-foot-long iguana can often be seen darting beneath the waterfalls. The island also houses an outdoor pool and whirlpool. Off the lagoon, you can find racquetball and tennis courts.

Wrap up the day by watching one of Florida’s famous sunsets on the private balcony of your condo-style room. Inside, the room feels like its own tropical hideaway; it’s furnished with exotic flowers, wicker furniture, and a wall of windows that lets in abundant natural light.

Naples, Florida: Upscale Retreat on Pristine West Coast

From the bleached sand to the 75-degree water that’s as clear as glass, everything in Naples seems impeccably clean. You can practically see the fish as they swim underwater below Naples Pier. This dock extends 1,000 feet into the Gulf of Mexico, which leaves plenty of room for a crowd of anglers to cast their lines. “The main one you want to catch is a pompano,” advises Jim, a fisherman visiting from western Massachusetts.

East of the pier you can find sunny Old Naples, where luxury cars are parked outside art galleries, upscale restaurants, and bars with outdoor patios. Walk on the brick paths of Third Street South and you’ll find open plazas with antique water fountains as well as striking turn-of-the century architecture with a strong Mediterranean influence.
