Chic, Four-Star Hotel Just South of Downtown Portland

True to its name, River’s Edge Hotel & Spa is located along a quiet bend of the Willamette River, the waterway that bisects downtown Portland just a few miles north. The chic hotel is just minutes from Portland’s main attractions, and it’s surrounded by trees on a secluded patch of property, tucked away from the bustle of the city.

Downstairs, at Aquariva restaurant, chefs use artisan ingredients cultivated from local Oregon farms, ranches, and streams. As you dine on dishes such as grilled rib-eye steak and pan-seared local trout, you can enjoy views of the Willamette River through floor-to-ceiling windows. If the weather’s nice, you can dine on the outdoor terrace.

There are 99 guest rooms at the hotel, many of which have attached balconies or terraces that overlook the river. In the morning, there’s a complimentary continental breakfast spread of baked goods, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, and juice in the elevator lobby area of each floor.
