  • 3 nights at 2.5- to 3-star hotels
  • Tour guide
  • Transportation for duration of tour

  • IMAX movie
  • Park entrance fees
  • Taxes, fees, and gratuities (excluding tour guide tips)

We've listed some highlights of each park below. You can find a full itinerary here.

Day 1: Zion National Park

Red and pink sandstone monoliths tower above the landscape at Zion National Park in southern Utah. Established in 1919, it's the state's oldest national park and a popular place for hiking, canyoneering, and bird-watching (more than 207 bird species live here).

  • Take a hike: Popular trails include the half-mile-long Weeping Rock trail and the 1.2-mile Lower Emerald Pool trail.
  • IMAX movie: Treasure of the Gods, a 40-minute look at the park's most spectacular monuments

Day 2: Grand Canyon National Park North Rim

The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, 18 miles wide, and a mile deep. The views are especially stunning from the North Rim, which is 1,000 feet higher and a lot less crowded than the South Rim.

  • Scenic drive: En route to the Grand Canyon, you'll cruise past giant ponderosa pines, slot canyons, and a scenic overlook of the Grand Staircase rock formation.
  • Picture-perfect views: Spend the afternoon hanging out on the viewing deck, soaking in the sheer magnitude of the canyon.

Day 3: Capitol Reef National Park

The scenery at Capitol Reef National Park is defined by a 100-mile-long wrinkle on the earth's surface known as the Waterpocket Fold. Formed 50 to 70 million years ago by the movement of underlying plates, the fold is made up of layers of rock that gradually increase in height. Subsequent years of erosion are what formed the park's red-rock cliffs, domes, and bridges.

  • Native American heritage: Some of the area's earliest inhabitants carved petroglyphs that can still be seen today.
  • Hike 1.8 miles to Hickman Bridge, a natural red-rock bridge.

Day 4: Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon National Park has an almost dreamlike feel. It's dotted with hundreds of red and white rock formations called "hoodoos" that have been described as a forest of stone and a cave without a roof. They create a picturesque backdrop to the park's many hiking trails and campgrounds.

  • Rise and shine: Early risers will get a chance to watch the sunrise over Bryce Canyon.
  • Scenic descent: You'll get the chance to go into the canyon and see the hoodoos up close.
