All-Seasons Vacation Homes in Yosemite National Park
The Redwoods In Yosemite has a number of cozy vacation homes scattered throughout the southwest side of Yosemite National Park's more than 760,000 acres of eastern California wilderness. Most of the properties are set in the peaceful town of Wawona, surrounded by granite cliffs, waterfalls, and diverse wildlife. There's plenty to do nearby, including golfing, horseback riding and picturesque hikes at Chilnualna Falls.
The Redwoods In Yosemite's vacation homes are fully furnished with linens, cookware, dishes, and barbecue grills. Guests can take in the scenery from the private deck of the intimate Hasting's Hideaway (#84). Grill out on the back deck of the Bassett Cedar Rock Cabin (#2), which is built around a big tree trunk amid clusters of trees and large boulders.
Wawona, California: Gateway to Adventure in Yosemite National Park
Just 90 minutes north of Fresno, the unincorporated town of Wawona is situated entirely within Yosemite National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that welcomes millions of visitors every year. The Wawona area—and much of Yosemite Valley—remains accessible to drivers, hikers, and mountain climbers year-round. Thanks to its position near the park's south entrance, Wawona has not been significantly affected by the recent Rim Fire.
For a scenic hike, take the Valley Floor Loop Trail to see the Bridalveil Falls and the Merced River. At the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, tourists can see massive trees that are nearly 5,000 years old. Crowds are much smaller in the autumn months than during the summer rush, meaning you can explore the park at an unhurried pace and experience it as few visitors can.
