Explore the Temecula Valley Wine Country

California’s Temecula Valley has been a center for wine production for hundreds of years, beginning with the Franciscan padres at Mission San Juan Capistrano. The valley is now an official American Viticultural Area (AVA). Located 500 miles south of San Francisco, Temecula’s comparably warmer climate is best suited for growing grapes such as rhône varietals including cabernet sauvignon and zinfandel.

With this getaway, you’ll get to experience the local scene during an included four-hour tour of Temecula Valley wine country. An expert host will accompany you and other guests on a limo ride through the valley, visiting three wineries along the way. You’ll enjoy up to six tastings at each stop as well as champagne, crackers, and chocolate in the limo.

The Hotel: Tuscany Hills Resort and Spa

You’ll spend 1 or 2 nights at Tuscany Hills Resort and Spa, located just 40 minutes north of San Diego. Your options for lodging are the deluxe double-queen suite or the deluxe king suite, both of which are outfitted with french doors, free WiFi, and a private patio or balcony with views of the courtyard and the adjacent 18-hole golf course.

You can relax in any of four soaking pools or get in some laps in the swimming pool. Massages and body wraps are available at the spa.

This establishment is not a resort or a spa! Rooms are in severe need of maintenance and upgrade. Not worth the amount being charged

Never got to go! My girlfriend and I traveled from AZ to go and we had just boarded the party bus to leave for the first winery, and 5 minutes after leaving, the police surrounded the bus and boarded and said that this business was operating illegally for the last year and the party limo driver did not even have a drivers license! Really? What a vacation bust! Even the "Tuscany Hills Resort" that we were supposed to stay was operated by these people and looked pretty sketchy! We never checked in but the lobby and pool area needed work. Maybe at one time it may have been nice, and we were told the owners were renovating the rooms. In all fairness to them, we didn't see the rooms, but lost our desire to stay after this fiasco. I asked the girl in the office if they had a business license for the resort after the police brought us back to the resort and she pointed to an entertainment license on the wall. It was not a hotel business license. They also ran a hot air balloon operation and I wonder if that was legally operated. We waited for the owners to come back to the resort to refund us, but they were obviously held up by the police and who knows maybe ended up in jail. We drove back to the coast and found another place to stay for the balance of our trip. A much better choice! We got a full refund through Groupon, thank goodness.
