About Gao's Acupuncture & Herbal Therapy Center

Using techniques that have been perfected over the past three millennia, licensed acupuncturists and traditional Chinese medicine practitioners Zhongliang and Yi Gao combat ailments with natural healing. Their treatments include massage, traditional acupuncture, and cupping, an alternative form of acupuncture that eschews needles for manually suctioned cups. They also recommend teas or powder-filled capsules from their herbal stores to help cleanse toxins and espresso beans from bodily systems.

Tried to upsell items - so I'm not sure I got the best treatment / service possible. The actual acupuncture experience was good.

My experience here was less than thrilling. The acupuncturist has no bedside manners and I felt like everything was rushed. There was little to no communication about procedures, what to expect, etc. And there was no herbal consultation at all. He'd quickly set things up, get the needles in, leave the room, come back, do something else, leave the room, etc. Whenever he came in or left the room, he just flicked the lights back on, which is a bit jarring when you're supposed to be relaxing. He didn't care whether the door was open or closed and many people have very little clothes on during the process, so those sitting in the waiting room can see into the procedure room. Conversations were loud and distracting. I'm sure the acupuncturist is experienced and does good work, but it was not a comfortable atmosphere, he seemed rushed I think because he was tending to too many people at once. I didn't feel like he was that interested in the actual healing aspect of acupuncture but getting me to come back regularly and allowing my insurance to pay for it. And maybe all of this was such b/c I was using a coupon, but I will not be returning.
