What type of lasers do you use? Do you have the alexandrite?

Bernard L.

I don’t understand what’s with all these restrictions, doesn’t seem worth it. As a man, I have been looking for a laser hair removal groupon and was excited until I read the fine print.

Enjoy using the laser treatment on the 3 strands of hair on your pinky toe

Dawn M.

Do women’s “sideburns” count? I see they mention chin and I’m wondering if that’s the same.

Tamara F.

If opting for 6 sessions, can those be completed in a year’s time? I wouldn’t want to buy two groupons and then find out that I need to wait a certain length of time between sessions that would be over a year in total length. And just to make sure, ladies underarms and upper lip are viable options for this groupon?

Tony M.

What area exactly is considered “The Neck” for men? Is this the whole area from the bottom of the hairline to the top of the back including just under the ears? None of these treatments seem very useful on the mens side

D J.

I want to buy this as a gift for a man, but I really don’t see any usable “parts” for a guy here. How about the back?

Diana P.

how many sessions is needed for full hair removal? would 3 be enough or is 6 recommended?

Shanna A.

If you are using a small area (such as underarm or belly button area), can you also have them do another small area with it?

Lindsay K.

How many sessions for the bikini line?

Gentle T.

Good Morning,

Diana P. – In order to achieve full hair removal we recommend on average 6-8 treatments depending on the individual and area (hormonal or non hormonal) being treated. You could always start with 3 treatments to see your progress and move on from there.

Dalie J. – Usable parts for a man would be toes, facial areas, brow, ear and we could add in fingers to this groupon as “toes” if you prefered.

Tony M – Neck would be as you described, front or back. I myself have done both areas and my favorite would be the back of my neck due to the fact that when our hairs grow in that area we know it’s time for a clean up or hair cut. This actually allows me to post pone my trips to the barber because it keeps a clean look.

Tamara F – You would have plenty of time within the year to complete your treatments as we typically recommend treatments 4-6 weeks and depending on hair growth we may have a treatment later in your sessions 8 weeks apart. Yes, underarms and upper lip are body areas that are part of this groupon.

Dawn M – Please contact me personally at Mark@gentletouchlaser.com and we can discuss this area and I will address this to the Groupon team.

Adriana P – Yes, we have the Alexandrite wavelength for light skin as well as the Yag for tan to dark skin. At our centers we can safely treat all skin types. Our laser manufacturer is Cynosure which we utilized the Apogee Elite system, you can read about this system on their site here http://cynosure.com/products/elite/index.php

I hope this answers everyone’s questions or concerns. If you would like to address anything privately you may contact me at Mark@gentletouchlaser.com or one of specialists at Info@gentletouchlaser.com.

Thank you for your interest in Gentle Touch Laser Center!

I would echo the comments of the other men — you should include men’s back and shoulders and torso.

Michael K.

I bought one because I’ve been meaning to get my ears done for a while.

Definitely seems a little bit unfair to men, otherwise. I’m guessing a whole back treatment is too large and is left for the upsell. I can imagine, though, certain women have a total inner thigh area as large as some men’s backs…

But what about upper triceps and shoulders for guys? I could use it there, too, and that’s a smaller area.

$99 is still a great deal for three ear treatments and I’m happy. Just in time for summer. There’s still areas guys can use this – plenty of unibrows out there. I want to get my neck done too, but only after I consult my stylist. This is my first groupon and I’m pretty psyched.

Elana B.

It doesn’t say the unibrow area in the fine print. Is it definitely included? Also, how many weeks in between sessions do you need for the unibrow? Could someone complete all 6 sessions this summer?

neil f.

i assume mens back is not included – if it was – what would be the range of prices per session – since you got us all to look with the headline

lame deals

Laure P.

Hi, does the bikini line include ‘brazilian’ or the inner part of the bikini line?

Ce T.

What are the office hours for the three locations?
Can I buy the 6 sessions and use it for multiple areas? I have already started my laser treatment somewhere else.
Can I use the 6 sessions interchangeably between the three locations or do I have to stick with one location after I started?

K D.

What is the difference between the chin & neck? Where do you draw the line?

Carrie F.

I’m also wondering how much bikini area this deal covers… can you do a brazilian with it?

Christine B.

can you do the laser hair removal for armpit hair?

Joshua M.

Good morning. May men opt to have their underarms treated? (Or is that soley for women?) Thanks.

michael b.

oh please Groupon! Getting laser hair removal on ears, fingers and toes is such a bad deal for $99. It’s obvious they’re trying to get people in the door in hope they can rope them in for the pricier treatments that people actually want… Why don’t just just offer a real deal on laser hair removal on back and chest: which is what men want to laser. Come on Groupon!

Adi H.

I’m also wondering about the extent of the bikini treatment. Does it include full or partial Brazilian? How much of the inner part of the bikini line does the treatment deal really includes?
Also, do you use any Alma laser machines? – arguably considered the top of the industry now.
Thank you.

Tammy b.

i’m confused about how they remove hair from my pancreas and why it may pinch in my spleen? is this a joke, a really arcane hirsuteness problem, or some very bad copy editing? quite frankly it scares me and doesn’t make me want to cash in on this groupon!

michael b.

Re: your bikini question. MY girlfriend had a traumatizing experience with this. she’s behind me now yelling at me to write this! lol She said the bottom line is that no one is going to do a good job with a proper laser for such a cheap price. She got roped in by this place on 3rd avenue that said $50 for 3 sessions of laser hair removal on bikini. It turns out the deal only meant you could laser the sides of your legs touching your bikini. Which any bathing-suit would leave gross black spindly hair poking out of! Seriously if you’re going to do laser hair removal on your bikini you gotta go Brazilian and take care of it all once and for all. So… $50 aint gonna do it. I’d wait for a better deal, says my girlfriend.

Catherine V.

Curious about whether (female) upper lip and chin can be combined or if they are considered separate treatments? Thanks

Joshua M.

Tammy,

Groupon enjoy levity in their copy. But it, more often than not, reads awkward and forced. And I think pretty much everyone finds it somewhat irksome. But it’s what (they seem to think) the people want!

Jeny B.

So this definitely doesn’t include Brazilian bikini? Otherwise its so not worth it, wow.

Elena F.

I actually just called them (the Manhattan office) about the bikini question. The Groupon only covers regular bikini, not Brazilian and not partial Brazilian. I asked about a partial Brazilian and was told they are $250 per session, although there seemed to be specials to reduced the price to about $200 per session. It actually sounds like you could probably negotiate an even better price with them, but certainly not 3 treatments for $99.

Tammy b.

joshua – thanks – i normally don’t mind the levity but this one seemed beyond levity and more irresponsible!

Ninali

I just read this review on Yelp. Has anybody been here before? I’d like to know what I’m getting into before I buy.

I am only giving Gentle Touch one star because Yelp makes you. When a laser place leaves you with serious burns, they don’t deserve any stars.

“I recently went to Gentle Touch two days ago, and was left with such severe burns that I can only pray will heal properly. I immediately went to my dermatologist who told me to be careful about going to discount laser places with prices that sound too good to be true.

When I confronted Gina, the careless technician at Gentle Touch, and showed her what she had done to me, she nonchalantly said, “OK, well let me just refund your money.” It was too easy, and when I asked to speak to a manager she told me he was “busy.”

I don’t usually take the time to bash companies or restaurants on public forums, but I feel I must warn other people, because I would not want what happened to me to happen to another person."

eleonore p.

Ok, so I think we can conclude a few things here:
1. the bikini treatment is for some 1900’s version of bikini (i.e. not enough hair removed)
2. chin and neck are 2 different body areas here, so you can only laser one at a time on this deal.
3. getting burned by a laser hair removal place SUCKS. but the burns go away and then you can sue… And anyway if you’re only lasering your fingers, toes and 3 inches near your bikini zone how bad could your burns be???

Amy K.

is there a guarantee, if it doesn’t work? I’ve had unsuccessful laser treatments before.

Joshua M.

*enjoys

SERENA S.

Are you able to use this groupon on more than one area at a time or would we have to pick only one of those areas for each session? Seems like a good deal if you could clump two or three small areas. Not very good if you can only pick one. And I’m assuming non-transferable means no gifting?

Amy S.

So has anyone been here? I’ve really wanted to get laser removal on my upper lip, but I’ve been too scared to try any of these places I’ve seen deals for.

eleonore p.

Sorry, I really don’t mean to bash Gentle Touch at all. And I don’t know anything about them burning more people than any other clinic… I was just responding the the post above from Ninali. I love laser hair removal and Ive never been burned obviously! (I’ve done my upper lip, underarms and I’m on my 3rd Brazilian bikini treatment) But I go to a place that doesn’t do scams like this. Think about it… THe laser girl at my place told me lasering machines are so expensive that if companies are charging incredibly low prices the machine is old so no matter what setting you put it on it won’t kill the hair and so it’ll keep growing back… OR it’s all busted to it gets uncalibrated and burns people. So… my advice is to keep shopping for a laser place. I love groupon and I’ve gotten cool stuff from here (yoga classes, chocolate) but I’d pass on this one. Have a great weekend!

Elena S.

They have very positive reviews on Citysearch (and lots of them, over 300), so it seems like the machines do work…

Laurie M.

I went in on the deal with Assara Laser Hair Removal when Groupon offered it and they have been wonderful. It was a good deal – 3 brazilian for $199 or 3 chin for $99. It is my first Laser experience and it has been a good one. My only caveat is that you really do need 6-8 treatments to really eliminate the hair. (I have continued with Assara.) It does reduce the hair after a couple of treatments, and you even may think it is all gone, but then the next growth period starts. My guess is that – from Citysearch – this place is fine. I do wish they would offer a deal for Brazilian (and backs for Men). Or – if we are going for the Holy Grail – legs!
Can someone from Gentle T please answer about what Bikini line covers and what Inner Thigh covers please? Seems like that is a frequent question and might benefit from being answered here as opposed to all of us calling. This is Groupon – we are not shy!

Joshua M.

Elena S.,

Investigate deeper… 284 superlative reviews w/ each individual reviewer having submitted a review for no other business but this one. To me, THAT SCREAMS FRAUD!

M R.

Can someone from Gentle Touch tell whether you can purchase the groupon and opt to upgrade it to another area (specifically, shoulders) for a supplemental fee?

Ce T.

i’m still waiting for gentle touch to get back to my questions….

laurie m. – would u recommend assara?

Cheryl M.

I would like to call out that the deal says that it is “Valid for upper lip, chin, brow, ears, neck, underarms, bikini line, aureola and toes, inner thigh, and belly button line.” So we can get ALL of those areas done in one treatment?

Victor J.

1. Joshua- thanks for the deeper investigation

2. This really isn’t such a deal. Any one of those spots is 5 to 25 minutes. So, really, you’re paying 100$ for 15 to 75 minutes. The former is a huge win for them and the later is simply a rate. How did they rationalize a 1050$ value on this??

3. To echo others- yes, a real deal for men.

Katarina C.

Thought about what Joshua wrote and looked at the review myself. They have like ten reviews a day in Feb/March 2009, with certain days of no reviews. Did they have their receptionist writing fake reviews all day? And none are posted on her off days? I don’t think the majority of those reviews are legit, which makes me nervous to let them touch me with a laser.

Nkechi

Does Gentle Touch have lasers for Afro-Carribbean hair?

Laurie M.

@Ce B. – Yes – I would recommend Assara. Angela is great, knowledgeable and thorough. But – like all Laser – it is expensive. If you are looking to do a lot of areas – they have a monthly deal which is great. But with the monthly deal – you do have to commit to 6-8 months.

eleonore p.

It’s obvious they post fake reviews, but if they have haters (burned people, scorned employees etc) out there can we really blame them? I still think they’re probably an ok place to get lasered, the problem is that who knows how much they’ll charge you for what you really want to get lasered once they get you in the door with this too-good-to-be-true offer? That offer from Assara on Groupon sounds more like reality. Assara offered 3 brazilian bikinis for $199 or 3 chin for $99. That was a real real deal, not a scam.

Erin B.

I’m interested in laser hair-removal on a freckle just to the side of my chin. Would this qualify for today’s Groupon? Are there any guarantees?

Sarah I.

@joshua m., good eye! that’s indeed super sketch!

can you imagine 284 people creating a citysearch account just to review one place and one place only? and all 284 giving it 5 stars? 7 reviews posted on october 15, 2009! the busiest restaurants in the city don’t see citysearch traffic like that!

what’s more, note the avatars of the posters. it’s all stock ms windows imagery. not a single face!

behold: http://newyork.citysearch.com/review/47476732?reviewId=53137991

Jayna C.

Hey Everyone,

You can pick one area and use all three on that one area. You can pick three areas and use one on each area. etc.

Fingers are find, Brow means UNi-brow as well.

Freckle is not something that laser hair can work on because it will discolor the freckle.

Brazilian is not part of the deal. If you want to upgrade and pay an additional $100 per Groupon that will be fine. You pay directly to Gentle Touch Laser Center.

Men’s bikini line is included.

For Men’s back, chest etc. – just call Gentle Touch Laser Center and they will give you the additional price after Groupon cost. Keep in mind that they are very slammed today.

For Laser’s – check Mark’s earlier post for more details.

Thanks, Jayna

Ce T.

so does that mean it will be $99 plus additional $100 for 3 sessions of brazilian? A total of $199?

Gentle T.

Hello Everyone,

We apologize for not getting back to everyone sooner as we have had a great amount of calls this morning regarding this Groupon. We want to address a few concerns and answer some outstanding questions.

1. The Groupon is for 3 sessions for one of the areas listed. You may purchase up to two Groupons of either two areas for 3 sessions each or a total of 6 sessoins for one area.

2. If you would like to upgrade your Bikini area to a full Brazilian, you may do so at an additional charge of $100 at any Gentle Touch Laser Center.

3. We utilize the Cynosure Apogee Elite, it is a dual wavelength system which carries the “Alexandrite” for light skin and “Yag” for tan to dark skin individuals.

Jayna – Thank you for addressing some of the questions.

We are doing are best to address everyones concerns via email and the calls coming in.

If you have a specific concern please address it to me @ Mark@gentletouchlaser.com or info@gentletouchlaser.com.

Gentle T.

Hello,

Sorry I wanted to clear up my posting.

Jayna is correct with this statement- You can pick one area and use all three on that one area. You can pick three areas and use one on each area. etc.

Thank you,

Mark

Amy P.

Mark, are you going to comment on the charge that your business has attempted to defraud the public by posting fake online reviews?

Eva B.

Can this offer be combined. Example if I buy two would that give me 6 sessions?
Thanks
Eva

emb@corcoran.com

Adi H.

Mark, Groupon, can you please clarify: does the additional $100 means a total of $199 for 3 sessions of Brazilian? $199 for 3 sessions, i.e. $66.33 for each Brazilian bikini session, is still a decent deal, but $199 for each individual session isn’t.
Thank you.

Vanessa S.

What are your operation hours?

Gentle T.

Hello,

Adi H- Yes you are correct it would be an additional $100 at one of our centers.

Vanessa S- Our hours of operation are Mon-Fri 9am-7pm but we are flexible knowing people have to come in earlier or later and on Sat. 9am-5:30pm, we are closed on Sun.

Kind Regards,

Mark

Cari Lee D.

Can you please clarify…is it an additional $100 per visit for Brazilian? Or is it a one time fee?

Gentle T.

Cari L. – This would be a one time fee.

Groupon contacted us due to the multiple inquiries about the deal Assara ran and we agreed to match.

Thank you,

Gentle Touch Management

Jennifer B.

Okay, just want to make sure before I make a purchase; Could I get one of each of the following?
-1 upper lip
-1 chin
-1 lower abdomen

Jen

Caroline

I would like to get laser hair removal for my underarms.
Is 2 groupons (total of 6 sessions) for the underarms enough?
Also. during the period of laser hair removal. Will i be growing hair?
or will I need to or am I allowed to shave during the period?

Gentle T.

Hi Jennifer and Caroline,

Yes, you can use the Groupon to do one of each area mentioned.

2 Groupons would be a total of 6 sessions for underarm. Typically we recommend 6-8 treatments for hormonal areas like the underarms. If needed between treatments you would be advised to shave.

Hope this helps,

Ditto to Amy P:

“Mark, are you going to comment on the charge that your business has attempted to defraud the public by posting fake online reviews?”

And mad props to all other Groupon users who have posted legitimate questions and concerns!

Jonathan W.

Front paged reviews are fake! This is a real problem. Groupon admins, you should remove them from the front page.

The review on the front page can be found:
http://www.insiderpages.com/b/15239900226/gentle-touch-laser-hair-removal-new-york

Effective treatments and friendly staff!

lstony 5 Gentle Touch Laser Hair Removal

“The girls at Gentle Touch are incredibly helpful and friendly. Convenient to Grand Central and almost every other train. I’ve had great results even after one laser hair removal treatment! After just one underarm treatment I hardly have to shave anymore-no more ingrowns for me! Of course I will continue for the recommended amount of treatments. I started with just one area but now I am having three areas done. It is ADDICTIVE. Make an appointment!”

It is nearly identical to another review for a place in BOSTON on from citysearch
http://www.insiderpages.com/b/3715520327/the-laser-skin-center-medical-spa-boston
“The girls here are incredibly helpful and friendly. Convenient to the T green line.

P.S. If you have a problem with a deal, make sure to make it clear in the beginning of your post as that will end up on the front page blurb and alert other users!

Corrine C.

Why is it groupon users have to vet the businesses for Groupon? This is not the first time a vendor has been called out for fake reviews.

Jaclyn G.

I have been a client of gentle touch’s for a few months. I too was skeptical about their reviews but after a friend referred me to them I decided to give them a shot. I have gotten laser done at other places and have had not so wonderful experiences, but I’ve had very positive results with Gentle Touch. I’ve completed 3 sessions so far and the amount of hair under my arms has greatly decreased. I work with Liz and she’s great—I’d really recommend anyone going to see her. They are undergoing renovations right now but it’s really the machine that matters. Again, if you’re gonna buy the groupon, I highly recommend Liz.

And no, I don’t work at Gentle Touch or have any relationship with any of the staff outside of being a client.

Jonathan W.

Caveat Emptor! Unfortunately, now that we know the company astroturfs, reviews on this forum are worthless because afaik there are no user histories to build credibility on! The only two reviews that are credible are two on yelp, one starting treatment with 4 stars from a 20+ review yelper and one complaining about burns.

Its a shame, because based on those two reviews I would buy this deal, but I don’t think a company that behaves this way should be supported. I’ll wait for another deal.

Jessica C.

Jaclyn- Glad someone has an insight to this company because there are great reviews out there but just want to make sure.

Jonathan- It’s suspicious that you would go through all that trouble to post those reviews when you can’t even tell you copied off of who. You look like a competitor hating on them.

Serena S.

Question for Gentle touch:
What are the chances of being burnt by the treatment? are there any guarantees that we wouldn’t be burnt? That’s what I’m most worried about following the reviews I’ve read.

Grace S.

Can a Gentle Touch Laser Center representative address S. G.’s findings:

“can you imagine 284 people creating a citysearch account just to review one place and one place only? and all 284 giving it 5 stars? 7 reviews posted on october 15, 2009! the busiest restaurants in the city don’t see citysearch traffic like that!
what’s more, note the avatars of the posters. it’s all stock ms windows imagery. not a single face!

behold: http://newyork.citysearch.com/review/47476732?reviewId=53137991"

?????

Rachel B.

Go Jaclyn! I was the one who referred her to Gentle Touch… I also will stand up and say, Gentle Touch is amazing.

Audrey A.

Is this like a medical treatment where you pay a fee, or are we expected to tip? And if we are expected to tip, does the fact that this doesn’t include tip (and we tip on the pre-groupon price) mean we’re supposed to tip something like $200 per groupon? So this will really end up costing me (if I buy two) $600?

Audrey A.

And how do we find out the pre-groupon price for the specific area we’re choosing to focus on since the $1050 refers to the most expensive service covered by the groupon?

Lindsay K.

Gentle T—you never answered my question—how many sessions are required for the bikini line?

Brandee L.

I don’t agree that this is a scam.. I do think that if other places are selling this for so low a price that its prob a scam but groupon is different. This place can prob afford such a low price because they are getting more exposure which means they are getting TONS of people. So even though it’s a lower price they are still making their money and we are getting a deal. Isn’t that the whole point of groupon. If we were gonna chock every good deal up to a scam then there would be no point of groupon at all. Anyway it’s not fair to call them a scam unless you know for sure. Not just because they are rendering a service at “to good a deal” Like I said they can afford to do this because the quantity compensates..

Ima K.

This company was featured as a SpaSally Tuesday deal which I bought for $25 for one session on the upper lip. My technician was Liz. My experience was fine. Nothing traumatic. I would have liked her to have a consultation with me beforehand to go over the procedures as it was my first time and I didn’t know what to expect. What to do afterwards, etc… rather than a bunch of forms you have to read through and sign but that is probably more my fault for not asking questions rather than her. Anyway, as for my experience, it hurts. There was air blowing on my face which made it hard for me to breath and I had to ask her to stop a few times before starting again. Other than that, the whole things takes 5-10 minutes. I could smell the hair burning. She gave me an ice pack afterwards. And I was fine. I wasn’t burned. They gave me an offer of $200 for 5 sessions. Maybe it was 6 sessions. I can’t remember. I think it was buy 5, get 1 free. Anyway, the reason why I went someplace else was I found another place that was cheaper and it didn’t hurt as much with no air blowing on me. They use a Candela machine.

Chela E.

last groupon i bought for laser was from britesmile and went almost exactly like this
http://www.yelp.com/biz/britesmile-professional-whitening-spa-new-york#hrid:uvZOYIXVOk0FJGP8Muf7oA
luckily groupon refunded my money
there was also previous talk on the britesmile groupon thread about them closing down their last business and renaming themselves, dont know any details about this and as the groupon is now removed from my page i dont know how to get to that discussion.
good luck and research

Elvin R.

@ GENTLE T.:
So, how much would shoulders or back be for men (above the groupon price)?

Amarilis g.

Question for Ima K.
What is the name of the place you got cheaper and better experience?

Elana k.

how long is each session? Lets say you are doing your lip which is a small area can you also do the chin at the same time or is it one specific area? Or do you have to buy 2 packages for that?

Ima K.

@amarilis: Satori Spa in the New Yorker hotel. $20 each session for the upper lip. No redness. They provide a lifetime guarantee (well, as long as they don’t close) so any sessions beyond what they quote is free. So, if they tell you your upper lip will require 6 sessions and after 6 sessions, you still see a little bit of growth, you can come in for free to maintain.

For the person who asked about tipping, since laser hair removal is considered a health upkeep (you don’t tip your dentist, do you?), it is not required to tip. But I think the spa places that also provide laser hair removal do expect you to do so.

Ce T.

Thanks Ima! I will go to Satori Spa and try it out…

BEWARE! I just called the Gentle Touch and they said they do not honor Brazilian anymore (for the additional $100). It was just for yesterday…Funny how noone from Gentle Touch ever mentioned this minor detail on the website…Thank goodness I didn’t buy the Groupon yet or else I would have been quite pissed off….Noone from Groupon said anything about the “limited time” promotion is only for yesterday only!

Elias A.

I am interested in not having to shave my beard everyday. Can this groupon be applied for facial area (beard area)??

Jessica C.

Ce B. – I would watch out for Satori Spa because I had a friend who went there and supposedly they went out of business and changed their name from “Sexy Laser” or something.

I would call Gentle Touch back because I called and got the Brazilian for +100 on the deal. Maybe you spoke to the wrong person. The fact is that is wasn’t part of this groupon, it was added on this discussion forum.

Ce T.

Jessica C – Thanks for the heads up…When did you buy the Groupon? I will try calling again.

Rachel B.

Mark will definitely work with you, just email him or call and ask for him directly. He really is the nicest guy, and Gentle Touch does great work as a whole

Gentle T.

Hello Ce B.,

Yes, I will honor the Brazilian deal mentioned on Friday. Please contact me directly and I will make sure you received it when you come in. I apologize if I haven’t gotten in contact with you earlier as I have had hundreds of inquiries which I am still addressing at this moment.

Hi Rachel – Thank you for the support and kind words!

Kind Regards,

eleonore p.

Shame on groupon for allowing this laser place to sell 2600 packages (7800 treatments); this place has 1 laser and it will take them years and years to service everyone (assuming they don’t take on any regular clients!). Sure groupon will make a lot of $$$ on this deal but I wonder what it will do to them reputation-wise. Shame on this laser place too. Good luck getting an appointment there!! ;-)

Erika J.

eleonore p., I just read through all these comments and you are just bashing everything about them, YOU must be a competitor hating on them because they are more successful or you just hate life. Groupon is a great company bringing deals to people that couldn’t afford on a regular day. Don’t like it, don’t buy it.

Gentle Touch, I appreciate the response to my email, it did take two days but it was answered. I am sure you have hundreds of emails to respond to.

They did offer something I found interesting, they said I could start in September because I am going away all summer. Thank you for your understanding

Serena S.

Gentle T:
I read that some people got burnt while going through the laser hair removal procedure. Could you clarify the probability of being burnt during procedure? thank you!

Chris B.

My printer does not work but I want to buy this.

How can I use the coupon without being able to print it;.

I have left 5 messages for them about this and none of my calls have been returned which is worrisome.

Also I cannot make purchases because when I try to buy it says my email is taken but it is ME. It is my email. I need tech support before this offer expires thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Serena S.

hm.. I asked the questions about burns starting over a day before the end of the groupon. This deal has ended and still no answer… not impressed

Randi R.

i called twice this past week and no one has returned my calls. i wanted to set up an appt. when i called the number listed on the groupon, it just kept ringing and ringing and ringing… no answer; no voicemail. then i went to their website and called the 1-800 number. I left a detailed message on Monday and then another one on Thursday and have not heard back. I realize that they must be overwhelmed but if that’s the case, then they should NOT have a one year expiration date on an item that will take a year to complete (I purchased two packages). I would like to schedule an appt for my first session as soon as possible. Is anyone at GLC returning phonecalls???

does anyone want to sell me this groupon?

Randi R.

i just asked for a refund because nobody ever returned my calls when i tried to make an appt. Groupon gave me a full refund (which was really nice of them, since i did print them out… but I explained the whole issue to them), but I still have a “sour grapes” feeling because this was a service I definitely wanted. I’m surprised no one else posted anything about having trouble making an appt with them. But seriously, they should have put a cap on how many people could purchase this deal OR they should have had no expiration date or 2/3 yr expiration date to be able to handle all the new clients. I don’t blame Groupon… I blame GTLC for having crummy customer service. But hopefully this experience will give Groupon some insight into putting realistic caps on some purchases OR convince the vendors to extend the expiration dates on services.

I went thorugh so much anxiety over this. I was told that one groupon would not be enough. I did not care what it cost. I was desperate. I bought two. My calls were not returned and I could not get through on the phone. Email does work though and Mark is very nice but he told me that I had to come for months of appointments that I would not have time for because I would not be in NYC. Then I found out that it might not work on my kind of hair. Mark told me that electrolysis would work but it would not work but it was more expensive so I tried that. One $25 a appointment and I am done. They also told me I should go back so I did for $10 plus a tip. I am so happy. What I have learned is that other people have unwanted hairs and that they are easy to fix. If it were not for the Groupon I would still have them.

Any one else having a problem with them not replying to calls or emails? My co worker and I both bought group ons and did not hear back after mulitple calls/emails.

This has been disastrous!!! No one seems to know what is going on! This has been a complete waste of money – horrible service!

This morning I went for my second session using my groupon. I have never had a problem scheduling an appointment with them (in fact, my technician reminded me to schedule my next appointment today right after our session). So far, I think I’ve gotten a great deal out of this groupon! I’m already starting to see a difference in the hair re-growth and the service is so quick and efficient. I would totally recommend GTL to my friends, and have already done so. The first time I went in for treatment, the laser was UBER painful, but today, I used a numbing spray beforehand and it was 75% better than the first time. Try to get your appointment with Gina, she was great this morning!

I scheduled my first appointment and had to wait 2 months. After speaking to a friend, I was advised to schedule all of the appointments ahead of time because it is difficult to get any appointments within the growth cycle. I tried calling them today. I called 6 times and no one answered or responded to my calls. I finally got a hold of someone. He told me he was the owner and denied having any scheduling problems. I told him that was difficult to believe since I had to call 6 times before getting ahold of someone. He told me that I’m getting this service for free while others are paying for it, so I shouldn’t complain. I told him that I did in fact have to pay for it. He continued to yell at me, refused to schedule other appointments and told me to try to get a refund from Groupon.
I’d rather pay full price at a place that provides better customer service and ease in getting appointments.
I hope Groupon will grant a refund to me.

Hello Everyone,

I would like to thank everyone for participating in this Groupon deal and being patient about making your appointments!

So far we am very pleased with all the new clients we have started to treat and the referrals we have already received from you Grouponers!! Our staff is very happy to be treating a lot of first timers to laser and will continue to provide you with great service and most importantly RESULTS!

For those that were having issues contacting us, Yes we had some issues with so any people calling in to book in the first few weeks. This deal wasn’t portrayed to us as a 3,000+ deal or we would definitely have caped it. But this deal was a huge eye opener to us and has allowed us to more than quadruple our laser staff, dedicate staff solely to scheduling appointments and customer service. I have been 100% involved in addressing anyone’s questions or concerns and will continue to do so. You can always reach me via email at Mark@gentletouchlaser.com

If anyone did miss this deal and is looking for laser treatments, I want to stress the point of making sure any center you look to for service is using a real “LASER”, which is specifically designed for your skin and hair type. We want to ensure that the laser hair removal business is viewed as a positive, safe and effective procedure. Only you as a consumer can ensure that you are receiving true laser treatments by asking a few simple questions.

Kind Regards,

Mark

I’ve made three appointments. Two of those have been canceled on me. There is no way that I’ll be able to redeem the 6 sessions that I purchased within a year at this rate, nor will the sessions be effective since the spacing of appointments (the recommended 6 weeks between sessions) has been affected by the canceling of appointments. Anyone else have this problem?
