$12 for Two Groupons Good for $12 Worth of Greek Cuisine

The menu's spanakopita ($4.50) set the stage for marinated-chicken pitas ($7.25), greek pizzas with gyro meat, olives, and feta cheese ($7.25), and sautéed shrimp mykonos in a lemon-wine-garlic sauce over spaghetti ($8.50).

George's Famous Gyros

George Salvaridis doesn't have any reservations about admitting where he got the recipes for his juicy, flavorful gyros. The young chef proudly explained to reporters from Phoenix New Times, "I pretty much copied everything from my Dad." George spent his childhood in his father's Greek restaurant in Chicago, watching him expertly slice gyro meat from sizzling skewers before joining him behind the grill at the young age of eight. George went on to open his own gyro shop in Arizona, naming it for the restaurant where he learned to cook alongside his dad.

Amidst the fiery stoves and bubbling pots of pasta, George and his chefs whip up a variety of traditional gyros—including the spicy Gyro Picado that was named as "Best Gyro" in the Phoenix New Times Best Of Awards. George layers these creations with a creamy tzatziki using his father's 20-year-old recipe. In addition to a comprehensive menu of authentic Greek specialties, sandwiches, and American pastas, he also offers a secret menu, which he shares with devoted customers or anyone who comes into the restaurant singing “How Deep is Your Love” to him in a booming voice.

The Groupon Guide to: Phone Greetings

Any boring person with a tongue in their face can pick up the phone and say “hello.” Here are some creative ways to answer your phone:

  • "Hi, who is this? No, don’t tell me! I want to have a confusing conversation."

  • "Hello, you’ve reached the Walking and Talking hotline. I just got a brand-new mobile phone, so I’ll be moving around my house and going to the bathroom while I talk to you."

  • "Gavin sucks! Just kidding, Gavin, you don’t suck. Oh, this is Gavin’s mom? Oh, I’m so sorry, Mrs. Gavin. I’ll go get my mom."

  • "Hello, Culver household. Margaret speaking. Edmond listening. Children not listening but tucked snugly in their beds. Fear hiding quietly under the floorboards."

  • "Hey there! Thanks for calling! I’m busy, so call back and leave a message."

  • "Hey there! Oh gosh darn it, you were trying to leave that message, weren’t you? OK, here we go again."

  • "Hey there! OH, SHOOT! OH, SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT!"

What’s with Gavin’s voice?
