Questions and Answers
Psst! Vienna is not DC. Why isn’t this the Northern VA deal of the day instead? :p
@Marnie: Google Maps gives a 1.5 mile walk to the location from the Metro.

The company website says “consultation required” before the process can be done. What if they decide the hair is not suitable for this process? Will this work on course (African) hair that has been chemically relaxed?

“consultation required”…….is there an additional fee for the consultation?

yes you can use it on coarse african hair that has been chemically relaxed

Good Morning Folks,
This is Sarah from Groupon.
The consultation listed on the website is part of the first appointment and included with this Groupon. The consultation is typically used to assess how much hair you have and what the exact price for your service will be (retail is $350 and up) but for this offer all Groupies, no matter how long your hair is, can get the service for this $150 price.
If you are wondering weather this treatment is suitable for your hair type, give Bellini a call at 703-255-2555 and ask them before purchasing this Groupon.
Best,
Sarah
Is this treatment the same as the Brazilian Keratin Treatment, just a different name?
how many are available?
Question: Stylists at Bellini’s have experience w/ African American hair?
Thanks

Nithya – The Brazilian Blowout is a keratin treatment that is similar to other keratin treatments. The major difference is there is no toxic chemicals to bond the keratin. Other keratin treatments use formaldehyde as the keratin bonding agent which brings up health/safety concerns. The brazilian blowout uses a proprietary protein complex and avoids the use of any toxic agents.
Ana – There is no limit and this offer will be available until Sunday night , so feel free to take your time to think about this before purchasing.
Sohair – Yes, they sure do.
Best,
Sarah
Hi Nithya!
I think it is important to note that the Brazilian Blowout lasts only 10-12 weeks where the Brazilian Keratin treatment lasts 4-6 months.
I noticed that there is a side deal for this same salon for products or services. Can the two be used together? For example I bought the brazilian blowout but need to get my hair colored as well and was thinking about buying the side deal as well. Can I use the brazilian blowout groupon as well as the side deal together to get them done at the same time?
Thank you!
Hi, I have to use a medicated shampoo every other day. Will that negate the effects of the treatment?

Shannon – Yes, you may use the Side Deal in conjunction with the blowout offer!
Amy – Without knowing what is in your shampoo, I would say there is a very good chance that it will strip the keratin from your hair and negate the effects of the treatment. To maintain the results, you must use a shampoo or conditioner without sodium chloride, sulfate or sulfide which are common ingredients so check your label to confirm. The Acai aftercare products that Bellini is offering are 100% approved to work with the treatment.

I just purchased this groupon and can’t wait to get the Brazilian treatment! Do I need to purchase anything else in order to get the $60 recommended product deal or will the salon honor that since I’m using a groupon for this service? THANKS!
I had the Keratin Complex by Coppola smoothing treatment in October. I have frizzy, curly hair and this treatment not only made the frizz disappear but also my curls! I use the shampoo & conditioner and have had the Infusion in between treatment as well. I now have very frizzy hair again with some wave. Still no curl. How will this Brazilian Blow-out be different/similar. Also, the Coppola product uses adelhyde. Does Brazilian Blow-out use that as well?

Shannon – The salon will offer you that discounted price on the products when you show up and use your Groupon. You don’t have to do anything special other than ask for it if they forget to offer.
Valerie – I’m looking into this for you. Stay tuned!
Sarah

Hi Valerie,
The experts at Bellini say since the Brazilian Blowout is similar to the Keratin Complex by Coppola treatment it may result in a similiar outcome. However, there is no aldehydes in the blowout – it uses a non-toxic protein complex.
Best,
Sarah
I have a few questions too:
- I assume tip is not included, right?
-Can I book the process and consultation in the same day? I live in MD so its a pain to have to go there 2x
- How long does the process typically take?
Thanks!

Annie – You are correct, tip is not included. The appointment (consultation included) will take about 90 minutes so you only have to visit one time.

Thanks Sarah!
can you have this service done if you are pregnant, or is it to ve avoided like coloring?
Was a little wary about purchasing the Groupon. I’m a Black lady who just grew her hair back in after overprocessing it to the point where it all fell out, and I had to get a weave to let it rest (and yes, that did work). But I had heard that the process is beneficial to the hair, so I did some checking and decided try it.
WOW!! It has been about 4 mos since I had the process done and my hair is still smooth and shiny and soft. I had a mild relaxer about 6 weeks before the process, and it really did extend the life of the relaxer by about a month. When I finally did get a touch up, my hair was amazing. It holds color better, and seems to tolerate humidity more easily. I’m planning to get another one next month (Aug), and totally recommend this process to anyone!
This place is great!! And so is the Brazilian Blowout! This salon has great customer service, is very clean, I like how they are all so friendly and look after you not your money. I am definately going back and I am so glad that through this GROUPON offer I found out about this place. I live in DC but willing to take the trip bec its totally worth it.

Are you located anywhere near the Metro? Thanks!
