Questions and Answers

Since the volume level is "built in", how loud do they get? Would I still be able to make them louder?

Ashton T. asked 10 months, 8 days, 4 hours, and 9 minutes ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

Hi Ashton! Even though it says the sound is built in, you are still able to control the volume level.

I have a Vizio HD Flat screen TV w/ USB ports. The sound is just awful. Do you think these speakers are compatible with this TV and would it create an improvement in sound? Thanks, Vikki

victoria R. asked 10 months, 5 days, 15 hours, and 33 minutes ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

Hi Victoria! As long as the TV has a USB port to plug in the speakers this should be compatible. The speakers should give you a nice boost in sound.

Would they work plugged into an Iphone? Or a Desktop Dell that is 4 years old i keep trying to find speakers to replace the original.

Diana M. asked 10 months, 5 days, 9 hours, and 22 minutes ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

Hi Diana! The speakers would not be compatible with an iPhone. They would however, work with the computer.

Kristi D. answered 10 months, 5 days, 9 hours, and 15 minutes ago

Hello, Would these also be able to be used with a smart phone via the usb charger?

ashley asked 10 months, 6 days, 14 hours, and 30 minutes ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

Hi Ashley! I'm sorry, this would not work, as it's not the correct USB port.

Kristi D. answered 10 months, 6 days, 10 hours, and 58 minutes ago

Hi - since they do not come with a subwoofer, how would you rate the bass response? Thanks.

Mike M. asked 10 months, 6 days, 16 hours, and 39 minutes ago - 1 answer

Nick F.

The bass is fair, you are buying a $20 set of computer speakers but Altec Lansing is a 88 year old company that makes Tier 1 product. For the price you will like what you get.

Are the speakers wireless or wired together when using them? and if they are wired together....do i have to keep it plugged in the USB port to be able to use it or are they rechargeable?

Christian H. asked 10 months, 8 days, 8 hours, and 35 minutes ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

Hi Christian! Yes the speakers are wired together. You would need to keep them plugged into the power supply.

Kristi D. answered 10 months, 6 days, 17 hours, and 41 minutes ago

If the speakers get their power from the USB port, how do they get their sound signal? Do they have a cable that plugs into the headphone jack?

meg j. asked 10 months, 8 days, 10 hours, and 23 seconds ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

Hi Meg! The audio signal also runs through the USB port for this model.

Kristi D. answered 10 months, 6 days, 17 hours, and 42 minutes ago

Do these speakers use a headphone jack on the PC? I now can only get sound on my laptop when I connect speakers to the headphone jack. Would like to have smaller speakers like yours.

carmen g. asked 10 months, 8 days, 10 hours, and 30 minutes ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

Hi Carmen! Power and audio signals run through the USB port for these speakers.

Kristi D. answered 10 months, 6 days, 17 hours, and 43 minutes ago

When it says "built-in" volume control, does that mean that I don't have control over the volume?

Hi Drew, the speakers do have volume control.
