Be Amazing Soda Geyser Car

The classic Mentos-in-soda experiment gets a new, vehicular twist with the Be Amazing Soda Geyser car. As the candies plunge into the depths of the soda bottle, they immediately react—causing a foamy explosion that sends the cars zipping off for 200 feet or more. The interactive car kit helps kids learn about Newton’s laws of motions as they create and tinker with their own mobile experiments.

First, they attach wheels to their choice of soda bottle, then load the cylindrical “fuel injector” with four Mentos. After kids unscrew the soda cap and replace it with the fuel injector, they pull the injector’s red pin to release the candy into the soda and send their car soaring. The kit includes decals for decorating the car’s nosecone with flames, racing flags, or their favorite prime number. There’s also information to help kids experiment with different types of fuel, helping them turn heads at the science fair.
