I am sorry, but for information regarding what model iPad you have you will need to consult an owners manual. However, I do believe that 3rd generation is the same as the iPad 3.

These are the dimensions you show. Dimensions: iPad 2 or 3 model: 11" x 7.6" x 6" Must be an error on the thickness. What are the dimensions with the case closed with the ipad 2 inside?

I am sorry for the confusion! We left out a decimal point and we are working hard to correct this problem. The dimensions for each option are:

iPad 2 or 3 model: 11" x 7.6" x 0.6" iPad Mini model: 10.24" x 5.51" x 0.5"
