I'd like to know the noise level. How does it compare to conventional fans.....regarding noise. If you have a specific decibel level....great. Thanks. Jean

Hi, this is Ryan from Dyson. The Dyson Air Multiplier™ fan reaches 64dBA on its fastest and most powerful setting. When in the lowest power mode it is at about 42dBA. This is comparable with other fans with similar outputs.

More Questions and Answers

How difficult is the assembly? I'm not a terribly handy person.

Adina L. asked 8 months, 27 days, and 19 minutes ago - 1 answer

Hi, this is Ryan from Dyson. The AM01 Air Multiplier fan is very easy to assemble. There are just two parts that need to be put together; the base and the loop amplifier. This will take you no more than a few seconds to complete.

I'm confused... This doesn't appear to be such a great deal. The same fan sells at bed bath and beyond for $209.99. If you happen to have a 20% off coupon that comes to roughly $169. That the same deal as on groupon. What am I missing????

Hi, this is Ryan from Dyson. The regular price of our 10" Air Multiplier fans is $299 and we have discounted them to $169 exclusively for this offer. You are correct that we are also offering our fans at a discount through retailers but this is the lowest price available at this time.

Dear George S., As this is an air-moving fan, does that mean it will circulate warm air for the winter months? That would be a great asset and an additional marketing point. If it does both, I will consider. Thank you, rp

rp . asked 8 months, 28 days, 3 hours, and 3 minutes ago - 1 answer

Ryan E.

Hi, this is Ryan from Dyson. The Air Multiplier fans available through this offer will circulate whatever air is in the space you put it in but they will not actually the air. That said, it is important to note that we also have the Dyson AM04 Hot+Cool which is both a heater and a fan. The AM04 is not available through this offer but if your interest is primarily to heat your home that would be the best option. You can find more information about the AM04 on our website.

Would it run on 220Volts?

MOHD S. asked 8 months, 28 days, 15 hours, and 53 seconds ago - 1 answer

Ryan E.

Hi, this is Ryan from Dyson. The Air Multiplier fans available through this offer are designed to run on 110 volts and we do not recommend the use of converters or adapters. However, our Air Multiplier fans are also available outside of the United States so we would suggest seeking one out in the country you intend to use it in. If you email us at askdysonUS@dyson.com we will be happy to provide you with more information.

Does this fan always osculate or can it be set in one directional air flow?

Cynthia A. asked 8 months, 28 days, 18 hours, and 21 minutes ago - 1 answer

Ryan E.

Hi, this is Ryan from Dyson. The Dyson Air Multiplier fan does not oscillate by default. There is a button on the right hand side with left and right arrows that activates the oscillation feature. Simply press this and then press again if you’d like to fix the fan in a particular position. There is a secondary motor in the base of the Dyson Air Multiplier fan that drives a smooth 90 degree oscillation from left to right at a fixed speed.

WHAT I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT IS WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE AIR MULTIPLIER AND THE NORMAL DYSON BLADELESS FAN

wendy A. asked 8 months, 28 days, 19 hours, and 18 minutes ago - 1 answer

Ryan E.

Hi, it's Ryan at Dyson. Apologies for any misunderstanding. There is no difference because these are actually the same product. Dyson fans work very differently to conventional electric fans. They don’t have fast-spinning blades that chop the air and cause uncomfortable buffeting. Instead, AM01 table fans use Air Multiplier technology to draw in air and amplify it 15 times, producing an uninterrupted stream of smooth air.

Is the air similar to that of an AC?

Diana asked 8 months, 28 days, 19 hours, and 18 minutes ago - 1 answer

Ryan E.

Hi, it's Ryan at Dyson. Air conditioning units and the Dyson Air Multiplier fan are two very different products that work in very different ways. An air conditioner refrigerates the air it supplies, allowing the air in the room to be made cooler than the ambient temperature outside. The Dyson Air Multiplier fan cools a person by moving air over and around them.
