I have the Keurig elite brewer. When I go to use the eko-single serve filter, am a to take out the black existing cup holder(the one with the little needle in it) then put the filter in or do I just leave it in place?

The EkoBrew is simple to use and it fits into the brewer as you would a K-Cup. Unlike the My K-Cup, you do not need to remove the filter holder to use the ekobrew. There are several videos on the EkoBrew web site that illustrate all of this perfectly. The first video is called: How do I use Ekobrew. That one is all you need to see.

I currently have "Keurig My K-Cup Replacement Coffee Filter Set 3 pieces Gray" that has a container that fits into the assembly where the K-cups normally go. The filter basket then sits inside. It is a pain to remove and clean. Does this product replace all of that so that you simply use this in place of the K-cup?

If you have one of the compatible brewers on the list, instead of using one of the typical sealed plastic k-cups, you would just fill one of these with coffee grounds and use it exactly the same way.
