Questions and Answers

I was wondering about how accurate and precise the scale is- how close to accurate weight does it measure (range of accuracy maybe, in grams or tenths of grams to actual weight?), and how precise is the reading (how far does it round up or down/ how much will the reading be different from subsequent readings of the same weight?)? Thank you!

Hi Amy, The scales way accurately with 0.1 oz or 1 gram increments. This is standard for a kitchen scale these days. More precise scales are those used in laboratories, but they are obviously more expensive. Weighing should be done at the center of the platform, and a repeat weighing with the same item will give the same result.

I want to purchase two scales, but different colors. I don't see that option on the order form. Help please!

What is the lightest weight the scale will calculate? It's not clear that 0.1oz is actually the lightest, just that the measurements go in that incremental size. Thank you!

Shannon S. asked 6 months, 30 days, 21 hours, and 6 minutes ago - 1 answer

Andrea D.

Hi Shannon, very good question! These scales weigh accurately in 0.1 oz increments, but for really light weight items you're better of with a high precision labratory scale. You should be fine weighing accurantly above 0.5 oz.

Can it be used for weighing postage?

kathleen k. asked 7 months, 5 hours, and 47 minutes ago - 1 answer

Andrea D.

Hi Kathleen, Absolutely! The accuracy of the scale is down to 0.1 oz which is well within Postal Service requirements.

Are these the exact same scales that were sold in August? The ones that had "limited quantities" such that only one item could be purchased? The ones that were $24 + $5 shipping back then and are only $21 with free shipping now? The ones that are again so "limited" that each person can now buy up to 5 such items? Just curious, thanks. And no, I'm not bitter!

Andrea D.

Hi Randall, Glad to hear you bought these scales, they are the same. The deal was limited, and is limited again. The extra 3 months you have been able to use it: priceless

How long does the weight display stay on? I'm interested in it staying on a longer time then shorter so as to be able to continue to add in ingredients one at a time into the same container without it shutting off. Thanks.

Sharon s. asked 7 months, 1 day, 3 hours, and 28 minutes ago - 1 answer

Andrea D.

Hi Sharon, The scale has a 5 minute auto shut off time. So if you're weighing something, and leaving it on the scale, the display will show the weight for 5 more minutes before shutting off. If you want to keep the weight on the display for longer you will have to make the display change value (i.e. by touching the platform or lifting the item on the scale up briefly)

Can I store this on its side as opposed to flat? In other words, can I slide it into a vertical space alongside something else? thanks

Elizabeth S. asked 7 months, 1 day, 3 hours, and 29 minutes ago - 1 answer

Andrea D.

Hi Elizabeth, yes you can do that. No problem. When you start using it on your counter wait for a minute or two to stabilize.

Does this have the 110V wall charger option or only the batteries?

Trish E. asked 7 months, 1 day, 5 hours, and 7 minutes ago - 1 answer

Andrea D.

Hi Trish, This scale has just batteries. Two lithium button batteries that last a long time. Thanks,

Is the color choice of Key Lime Green more like the toned down color shown in its individual picture or more like the bright neon green shown in the cover photo with three other scales? Thank you.

Yiming Z. asked 7 months, 1 day, 14 hours, and 18 minutes ago - 1 answer

Andrea D.

Hi Yiming, that question is hard to answer, as every screen (monitor, phone etc) shows it differently. On my computer screen the best representation is on the page "Click here to view an image of each option. " The actual color is a little darker than the color on the group shot. Hope this helps.
