one of your answers say avoid placing in high humidity. Recently moved to southwest coastal Florida where I find humidity very high. Will these lamps work fine here? Also regarding the size for the large 12-17 inches if it were the shorter end would it be wider to balance out size?

what is the demesion of the base? is it different as the size of the lamp or same? I understand everylamp has some variant look and size and may be glow too. but I like to know whether the size of 12inch to 17 inch means the height of the lamp including the base approximately or the packing size. pls give me a some measurement close enough for both one. I like to buy both of them.
