Great question. No, the speaker bar does not amplify calls. When an iPhone is docked and you receive a call the music will fade out and ringing will only be heard from the iPhone's speakers. You can not take a call while the phone is docked to the speaker bar.

You cannot dock and charge your Android device with this unit as it is designed for Apple devices, however there is a 3.5mm line input that will allow you to connect your device from the headphone out of your Android device.
