On the pictures I see a white dummy globe that holds the puzzle together, that you can build the puzzle on. Is that included? If not, how would the puzzle hold without something on the inside to give it form/shape?

Hi Rachel, there is not an inner globe included. Once you have some pieces together, you would start to form the globe by connecting them at a slight angle.
