Are the dimensions 104" x 95" normal for a king size bed. I bought a comforter and the sides are very skimpy. Just wondering if this is a generous size.

A lot of king size comforter on the market measures 102"x89"or 102"x90". This item is measured as 104"x95" is pretty over sized.

Are the squared ridges/quilting in the comforter created using thread through the layers or just "embossed" together?

The mini checker pattern on the shell is embossed. The comforter does have quilted sew through lines as square to secure the filling. That is why after washing and drying, fillings are still in place.

Is white the only color that's available? I need a tan color.

Yes. White is the only option in this feature. However, this comforter could also be used as duvet insert. We also sell duvet covers made with same material you can pair with this item. The duvet cover from our company designed with corner ties which can be tied up to the corner loops on this comforter. There are 6 different color cover available. They are all 2012 most fashionable color tones.

how do you wash it? Dry clean only?

It is machine washable and dryable, super easy to maintain. What is truly amazing, when it comes out from the dryer, it is still super soft and quite like new. When you wash it, i would recommend not using not super high spin. I choose the normal, which is fine. I normally it the comforter in those jumbo laundry bag when washing, which could protect the comforter as well as separating the comforter with other laundry items.

The shell is made of 95GSM microfiber emboosed with tone on tone checker pattern. It is super soft on hand and skin, The fill is year around fill, it is very light weight but most of the customers told me it is warm enough for most of the season.
