Yes, you can watch 2D content as you normally would. 3D viewing is optional. You could purchase glasses separately from electronics retailers or from the manufacturer.

Can I watch the screen without the 3d technology? I don't want to watch tv with glasses on it becomes a Pain if you have a large group of people over

Hi Bryan. Yes. 3D viewing is completely optional. You only need the glasses if you choose to view 3D content with 3D mode on.

In order to project television through this projector you will need to have a cable box hooked up to it. You will be able to change the channel using the cable box's remote.
