The critically praised movie garnered several awards and nominations, with an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for lead Colin Firth and Independent Spirit Award nominations for Best First Feature and Best First Screenplay for Ford. In addition to his filmmaking acclaim, Tom Ford has received much recognition for his work in the fashion world. His most notable awards include five separate honors from the Council of Fashion Designers of America and British GQ_’s International Man of the Year Award. Ford has also been named Best Fashion Designer by _TIME Magazine, GQ USA’s Designer of the Year, and GQ Russia’s Man of the Decade.
