Does it work on low shag carpet?

Yes the Neato will be able to travel over and clean various sizes of rugs and carpet. It has large wheels which allow it to adjust its height as it is moving.

Can this clean semi-shag carpet (e.g. Frizze-style)?

Just like a normal vacuum the Neato will "suck" in any frizze on the carpet/rugs however if you are able to run a normal vacuum on the semi-shag carpet then the Neato will also run fine. The Neato however cannot run on something super delicate that you would not run your normal vacuum on.
