Commonly Asked Questions

Does this run on batteries or electricity ? Thanks

Emma T. asked 5 months, 22 days, 14 hours, and 37 minutes ago - 2 answers

Kristi D.

Hi Emma, great question! The Tanda Zap runs on 3 AAA batteries. The Zap has a battery life of about forty to fifty uses, and the Zap will indicate with an orange blinking light when the batteries are running low and need to be replaced.

Kristi D. answered 5 months, 22 days, 6 hours, and 4 minutes ago

Kristi D.

Just to clarify, the 40-50 uses would be the life for one set of batteries. The device will last much longer than this.

I'm in the process of laser hair removal of my cheeks. I also want to treat acne scar on my cheeks. Can I use this?

Joey asked 5 months, 21 days, 4 hours, and 54 minutes ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

Hi Joey, thanks for asking. Permanent hair removal (laser, JPL) is carried out using a substantial input of light energy in the form of strong light beams. This can irritate the skin and cause a change in its light tolerance. For safety reasons, for at least 48 hours before and at least 48 hours after light-based hair removal you should not be exposed to any LED light therapy such as the Tanda Zap. Outside of this time span it should be okay - meaning you can use the Tanda Zap if it is at least 48 hours before laser hair treatment or at least 48 hours after laser treatment - but you should ultimately consult whoever is doing your hair removal therapy for their advice.

How can you tell when you have used it 1000 times? Is there any indicator that lights up on the product when it becomes ineffective, or do you have to keep tab on how many times you have used it?

M T. asked 5 months, 21 days, 16 hours, and 8 minutes ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

The Tanda Zap is programmed to deliver 1000 two-minute treatments (equal to 2000 minutes), which can be a very long time depending on how often you use the Zap. When the device has less than 50 treatments left, the orange power button will glow solid red for 10 seconds after each treatment. Once you have reached 1,000 treatments, when you push the orange power button the device will not turn on and it will glow solid red for 10 seconds.

Once 1000 treatments are reached, you will need to replace the Tanda Zap with a new unit. Like all other products, the Tanda ZAP has a lifespan. Topical products use up in 30-60 days, other zit zappers last for 80 treatments, while the Tanda ZAP has 1,000 treatments, which works out to anywhere from $0.25-$0.50 per treatment – a bargain compared to acne treatments.

what is the difference between this one and the Tanda Clear + Anti-Acne Light Therapy? is it a different treatment or is just a smaller size?

erika r. asked 5 months, 21 days, 18 hours, and 39 minutes ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

The difference between the Tanda Zap and the Tanda Clear+ Anti-Acne Light Therapy is that the Tanda Zap is smaller and used for individual zits (one zit per treatment), while the Tanda Clear+ is larger and covers about the area of your cheek in one treatment. If you suffer from breakouts or have pesky pimples that come up at the worst times, Zap is for you! If you have a more moderate acne problem, the Tanda Clear+ may be preferable. The Tanda Zap runs on three AAA batteries which should be changed every 40-50 uses, while the Tanda Clear has a rechargeable battery that you recharge with a charging station.

The treatments of the Tanda Zap and Tanda Clear+ are basically the same, using blue LED light treatment to kill acne-causing bacteria along with sonic vibration and gentle warming to allow the light to reach and kill more bacteria.

It says it is good for up to 1000 uses, but what exactly do you mean by 1 use?

Tania W. asked 5 months, 21 days, 20 hours, and 13 minutes ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

Hi Tania, thanks for asking! One use of the Tanda Zap is a single two-minute treatment of a single pimple/zit with the Tanda Zap device. The Tanda Zap is programmed to deliver 1000 two-minute treatments (equal to 2000 minutes), which can be a very long time depending on how often you use the Zap.

Is this brand new/in the original manufacture packaging? I would like to give this as a gift, so it has to be new with original packaging.

Cindy T. asked 5 months, 21 days, 20 hours, and 55 minutes ago - 1 answer

Joseph G.

Hi Cindy! We assure you that all orders are filled with brand-new units from the manufacturer, so there is no chance that a customer will be sent a used item or an item without original packaging. All Tanda Zaps ordered in this deal will be brand new units in original manufacturer packaging. We hope the person you're giving this to loves their Tanda Zap.

Can you use this to treat acne and breakouts on your neck? Want toake sure as its close to glands

Gina F. asked 5 months, 21 days, 21 hours, and 5 minutes ago - 1 answer

Joseph G.

The Tanda Zap can be used on most areas of the face and body, including the face, neck (with the exception of the thyroid gland area near the adam’s apple which should not be targeted), shoulders, chest, back, arms, and legs. So you can use it on most parts of your neck, such as the back and sides of the neck, but not the very front of the neck in the adam's apple area.

Joseph G. answered 5 months, 21 days, 20 hours, and 41 minutes ago

I read up on reviews online and all of them says that this thing drains battery in 3-4 uses. Above it says that battery lasts 40-50 uses. Is this an "updated" model with better battery life?

Jannie W. asked 5 months, 22 days, and 53 minutes ago - 1 answer

Kristi D.

The Tanda Zap is a zit Zapper which targets individual pimples. The current Tanda Zap is the latest model. Some customers use it on several parts of the face at once. It is possible that a portion of these customers mistakenly think they are doing one treatment when they are actually doing several, as each zit takes a single 2 minute treatment. For example, if a customer has 10 zits on their face, they can treat each zit once a day, but then the customer has to replace the batteries in 4-5 days.

The batteries that come with the device last for about 40-50 treatments, and then they have to be changed with new batteries to keep using the Tanda Zap device. When used as a zit Zapper, 40-50 treatments will go a long way, and the device itself will last for 1,000 two-minute treatments (2,000 minutes of use).
