the top of the floor lamp looks like it bends. does the neck of the lamp bend at all or is it only in the fixed position that is shown?

Hi Rebecca, it's a 27-watt bulb, with a C.R.I.(Color Rendering Index) of 80-85 - gives off as much light as an ordinary 150-watt bulb, but uses far less energy. The bulb can last up to 5000 hours, 5x longer than other bulbs. There is no warrantly for the lamp but replacement bulbs are available online for about $6 a piece.

Is this different from a grow lamp? We winter over many plants in our home and I wonder if this could help some of them do better. Also, is much heat given off from these bulbs? Thank you!

Hi Kim, some people do use the laps as grow lamps so I can tell you that it does work. The heat given off is measured at 6500 Kelvin.

Hi Marilyn, you can find replacement bulbs online under the part code 72-TUBE27. The retail for around $6. The bulbs last for 5000 hours so you won't have to replace the bulb very often depending on usage.
