Hi Patricia! They have no non-stick coating which means you will have these pots and pans for many many years. They are built to last a lifetime. Regarding cleanup, because the extremely smooth interiors are so highly polished, clean up after a warm soapy soaking is very easy!

How are handles attached and also do the handles get hot ?

Hi Susan! Yes, the handles are attached. The handles will get warm but will not get extremely hot because of the 18/10 stainless steel walls. Heat is not conducted through the walls to the handles or the lid top, thus preventing extreme heat transfer.
