Hey there, When I was looking at the brand name Zen Mattress Toppers the company mentioned 2 1/2" thick. The ones offered on Groupon are 2 or 3 inches.. I am sorry for the confusion. These mattress toppers are made by Zen Bedrooms and are the visco elastic toppers in the 2" and 3" thicknesses.

The thickness that you choose depends on how thick you would like your mattress topper. We have sold a lot of both thicknesses.

Getting technical here, but important to me-what is the flame retardant used? Also, to answer the ? about cutting-a kitchen knife works just fine.

We cannot provide the trade name of the retardant because it is proprietary. However, it does not fall within the PROP65 restrictions and all their products are certified to federal fire regulations.

I am thinking of getting the zen topper for my spouse who is in an assisted living facility. Does it work if the entire mattress and topper is covered in a rubber casing? Will this make it too warm? Thanks.

Rather than needing to keep asking questions about contents, safety, odor, etc. Please completely state what this is made from, what that term means, how it is different from "foam rubber", or other toppers, if the fire retardant or resistance is from some chemical or treatment, etc. Is this completely non-toxic? Why? What mattress toppers are toxic? Why? Bottom line, why are we buying this product instead of any other product on the market, for example, one at Costco. Please give full disclosure, rather than a number of us asking about various aspects, and receiving brief answers. Your use of the term "Zen" implies that this is a natural, safe, odor-free (not odor-reduced), top quality product, with no drawbacks. Tell us all of the info, and potential drawbacks and the difference between your product and others, then maybe you'll get a lot more sales, rather than minimal explanation pending our questions. They are are produced in the US.
They do not use low grade imported foam.
The foam is top of the range bedding grade material with no PBDE's or other dangerous chemicals.
