Ghosts of Palm Beach illuminates the city’s dark and haunted corridors during 90-minute tours led by licensed guides, who recount folklore and tales of mysterious sightings as guests stroll less than one spirited mile. Colorful characters dominate the tour, from prolific architect Addison Cairns Mizner, who's said to roam near the mansions he designed, to former mayor Paul Ilyinsky, who may still hover near Town Hall. Tour-takers follow the enlightened lead of scholars and storytellers known for their detailed knowledge of local phenomena and for being among the elite few to thumb-wrestle the headless horseman. Tours take place roughly every Friday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m.

Ghosts of Palm Beach

Groups of tourists walk past the current dwelling places of some of the area’s notable residents, such as Addison Cairns Mizner, Paul Ilyinsky, and Henry Morrison Flagler. Unlike the case with traditional celebrity-sighting tours, however, all of these men died decades ago. Their spooky hauntings frame the path of Ghosts of Palm Beach’s walking tours, during which knowledgeable guides share local folklore and paranormal encounters. Stops can include everything from Palm Beach Town Hall to high-fashion shops such as Gucci, Chanel, and Saks Fifth Avenue, where the ghosts still try to buy handbags for a dollar and two bits.
