After settling into homey confines, surrounded by paintings and dark woods, diners tuck into dinner dishes such as chicken vesuvio ($16.25) and linguine di pesce ($22.50), teeming with shrimp, calamari, and mussels. The ground-beef-stuffed lasagna ($16.25), one of Giuseppe’s house specialties, also pairs well with one of the bar’s cocktails, beers, or glasses of wine.

Giuseppe’s La Cantina

Though Giuseppe, the cofounder and namesake of Giuseppe’s La Cantina, passed on in 2005, his children still helm the restaurant in his honor. As a result, it’s no coincidence that the restaurant pulsates with a homey ambiance. The 50-year-old eatery has been in the Brunetti family since 1963, boasting menus and recipes passed down from family members in their native Italy.
