In a Nutshell

Daredevils, fire-eaters, and freaks ply their trade in a jaw-dropping party that also features Led Zeppelin tribute band

The Fine Print

Musicians and daredevils alike cultivate a dynamic stage persona by filling their shows with multiple costume changes, elaborate choreography, and family-vacation slideshows. Feast your eyes and ears on a thrilling performance with this GrouponLive deal to the 2012 Halloween Rock 'n Freak Bash at Sunset Station in San Antonio on Saturday, October 27. Doors open at 5 p.m. Choose from the following options:

  • For $18, you get two general-admission tickets (up to a $40 value).
  • For $45, you get four VIP tickets, which include a preshow meet and greet and photo opportunity (up to a $120 value).

A grotesque dream lurches to life at Sunset Station's 2012 Halloween party. In celebration of the ghouls and ghosts that swarm the streets at night, Bob Brewer of The Hindenburg Project channels a pitch-perfect Robert Plant, ripping through such Led Zeppelin hits as “Black Dog,” “Immigrant Song,” and “Houses of the Holy.”

These hard-hitting tribute acts set the stage for a host of stomach-turning daredevils and term-reappropriating freaks from troupes such as 999 Eyes and Cut Throat Freak Show. Jeremy “Cut Throat” Kinison specializes in foot feats such as walking on broken glass, and he boasts the rare accomplishment of making Sharon Osbourne sick on America's Got Talent. 999 Eyes' Eric Odditorium, on the other hand, provokes a gag reflex in everyone but himself as he combines sword-swallowing and the worm. The fire-eaters and aerialists of Hypno-Cirque perform throughout the evening, and MadTV's Debra Wilson acts as the ringmaster of this carnival of curiosities.

The Groupon Guide to: a Unique Wedding

Your wedding should be a reflection of every aspect of your personality and a definitive way to prove to your cousins that you are interesting. Here are some suggestions for making your wedding an original, spectacular, lovetastic journey:

• Mason jars instead of champagne flutes

• You're not the kind of person who would want a cake like everyone else's, so make the cake out of grilled steaks and have the frosting be mashed potatoes.

• You won't want gifts, so just have a station where people can write short works of magical realist fiction about you and your fiancé.

• Instead of a ring bearer, use a trained miniature horse. He hands out pamphlets about a charity working to save a rare breed of sparrows that are going extinct on Georgia farms.

• Tables are boring, but piles of freshly cut firewood aren't.

• Replace the guests with glass orbs full of water and rose petals. Replace your fiancé with a scarecrow made of your mom's vintage scarves.
