Sharply dressed fellas decked out in matching suits, hot-stepping in synchronicity, and singing in celestial harmony about the ways of love—such is the old-school vision that “70’s Soul, Pop, and Doo-Wop” seeks to bring back to the stage for a night of vintage Philadelphia soul. Headlining act Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes carry on the legacies of bellowing soul men Harold Melvin and Teddy Pendergrass with a flair for showmanship and vocal accord. Featuring the warm baritone of Donnell “Big Daddy” Gillespie and the tender tenor of Rufus “Fuss” Thorne, the group salutes their namesake with ballads such as “The Love I Lost,” “Wake Up Everybody,” and the disco-era staple “Don’t Leave Me This Way.”
Fellow Philly soul machine Blue Magic takes it slow and sultry with smooth ballads such as “Sideshow” and “Three Ring Circus” as they make their captivating dance moves look easy. Special guest Eban Brown, lead singer of The Stylistics, shows off a falsetto that soars over clouds and shatters glass vases into perfectly formed diamonds as he revisits a string of his group’s ‘70s top-10 smashes, including “Betcha by Golly, Wow,” and “Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart).”

####Broome County Arena The result of a nationwide battle of blueprints by young architects, Broome County Arena is a geometric delight of levitating suites that often resembles the exterior of a movie spaceship. This entertainment mecca has kept the denizens of the greater Binghamton area flush with music and sports since 1973. The 17,000-square-foot arena floor hosts the Binghamton Senators hockey team, and in its 6,925 concert seats, fans have witnessed the likes of Bob Dylan, the World Wrestling Arena’s Raw, and two of the last ever performances by Elvis Presley before his cloning experiment went haywire and took over Las Vegas. Due to security restrictions, G-Passes must be printed out and presented in person at the event. They cannot be redeemed through Groupon's mobile app.
