What You’ll Do

The ability to spin the wide array of Indian spices into flavorful dishes is a hard-won skill, but Anamika Khanna has spent a lifetime mastering it. In this class, Anamika guides you through the spices used in common Indian dishes, breaking down their look and flavor profile, as well as processes such as grinding, blending, and storing them. Then, Anamika incorporates the spices into a filling Indian meal—with dishes such as cumin rice, braised carrots with mustard seeds, fresh salads and breads, and tandoori masala—for the group to share.

Growing up in London and India, Anamika began cooking Indian dishes from a young age, a skill she’s now harnessed as the head chef and CEO of Kasa Indian Eatery. Her delicious dishes wow the Bay Area in two storefronts, a food truck, and a catering service, and she spreads her knowledge during cooking classes.
