In a Nutshell

Former lead singer of The Supremes and owner of two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame enchants audiences with Motown hits

The Fine Print

Music is all around us—in the wind, the rain, and the weird sounds that children make. Listen to something that's actually been rehearsed with this GrouponLive deal to see Diana Ross at Arena Theatre. For $99, you get two tickets for in-the-round seating in rows T–U of sections 3, 4, or 6–13 on Wednesday, February 6, at 8 p.m. (up to a $213.50 value, including all fees). Doors open at 7 p.m.

It’s nearly impossible to hear the name Diana Ross without immediately humming one of the songs her lilting soprano made famous. The lead singer of legendary Motown trio The Supremes, Ross often crooned tunes that were simultaneously upbeat and aching. Hits such as “Stop! In the Name of Love,” “My World Is Empty Without You,” and “Where Did Our Love Go?” soared toward the tops of the charts while gently tugging at the heartstrings of her listeners.

After her departure from the group in 1970, Ross embarked on a wildly successful solo career that included singles “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Upside Down,” a song penned after her first foray into a zero-gravity chamber. She also lent her signature pipes to Broadway shows and won a Golden Globe for her work in the film Lady Sings the Blues. After earning two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—one for her stint with the Supremes and one for her solo work—she was honored in 2012 with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for 50 years in the music business.

Inside Arena Theatre’s intimate confines, concertgoers get an up-close view of the consummate entertainer as she flexes her golden pipes, dances to the infectious beats of her classic music, and inspires audience members to sing along.

Arena Theatre

At Arena Theatre, nobody sits further than 60 feet from the show. Most concertgoers who’ve squinted their ways through major concerts at other venues can attest that the Arena’s in-the-round seating arrangement and revolving stage are causes for celebration. Since the 1970s, the state-of-the-art circumference has attracted a long list of legendary performers––including Willie Nelson, Tom Jones, and Aretha Franklin––into its intimate performance space. Four full-service bars allow quick access to refreshments, and enclosed parking protects exiting patrons from rainstorms. While sinking into their comfy seats and savoring a flashy light system and stellar acoustics, fans can hear every sound as they discard their unnecessary opera glasses.

The Groupon Guide to: Anxiety Dreams

While most dreams are entirely meaningless pageants of nonsense, psychologists agree that on very rare occasions a dream may symbolize anxieties you face in your daily life. Consult this dream-interpretation chart to figure out what exactly it is you're worried about:

Dream: Your teeth are falling out.
Anxiety: You are worried about money, usually not having enough of it, or even more commonly, having far too much.

Dream: You are being chased by someone or something.
Anxiety: You are anxious about being too popular within your peer group of someones and somethings.

Dream: You are back in high school, but you're only wearing your underwear.
Anxiety: You are anxious about what fashion-forward outfit to wear to impress old classmates at your biweekly "Back to High School!" party.

Dream: You are falling from a great height.
Anxiety: You are worried that you are almost 30—or even older than 30!—and have never proved conclusively that you are unable to fly. Will today be the day?

What are some common anxiety dreams and what do they mean? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
