In a Nutshell

Yellowcard thrills crowds with violin-laden pop punk, supported by The Wonder Years and We Are The In Crowd

The Fine Print

Some songs feel like they were written just for you, with lyrics that echo your love life and comment on the handwriting in your diary. Connect to a hit with this GrouponLive deal to see Yellowcard at The Fillmore Charlotte. For $14, you get one G-Pass for general admission on Tuesday, November 13, at 7 p.m. (up to a $27 value, including all fees). Doors open at 6 p.m. Because the ticket is a G-Pass, Groupon customers can use it to enter the venue directly; they will not need to redeem their Groupon at will call.

After a three-year hiatus at the close of the decade, Yellowcard exploded back onto the scene in top form with 2011's When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes. Heralding the band's return, Sputnikmusic gushed that the album "bleeds with the best that Yellowcard have done thus far," singling out the band's characteristic violin solos in the single "For You, and Your Denial." Now touring in support of its upcoming release, Southern Air, the group continues to draw in audiences with emotionally raw lyrics and breathily thunderous vocals that combine vulnerability with intensity like an auctioneer’s marriage proposal.

The Wonder Years offers its support to the evening's melodic pyrotechnics with explosive odes to disaffected alienation. Serving up the headbanging anthems it raised to an art on its third full-length album, Suburbia I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing, the band was praised by AllMusic.com for its ability to "merge the huge sound of melodic hardcore with a strong dose of narrative depth."

We Are The In Crowd rounds out the night's acts, bringing a double dose of vocal virtuosity to The Fillmore Charlotte courtesy of singers Taylor Jardine and Jordan Eckes. Beautifully meshing their pipes in such songs as "Rumor Mill," the duo complements each other's soaring range before dropping into goose-bump-summoning harmonies.

The Fillmore Charlotte

Housing the explosion of rock, The Fillmore Charlotte models itself on the iconic San Francisco venue. Once a textile mill, the open space follows the original Fillmore’s signature decor, from red-oak hardwood floors to glimmering chandeliers to stadium-style tiers that result in pristine sightlines for attending fans.

Due to security restrictions, G-Passes must be printed out and presented in person at the event. They cannot be redeemed through Groupon's mobile app.

The Groupon Guide to: Receiving a Home Visit from a Cable or Satellite Technician

Rarely—very rarely—in your adult life, you may be called upon to receive an unusual stranger in your home. Do not be alarmed by their well-worn uniforms and arsenal of strange tools—they are a representative from the company that provides you with television and Internet service.

In the rare—very rare—event that your cable or Internet briefly ceases working, one of these ragged strangers may arrive on your doorstep. Do not panic. Do not spray them with your hose, still connected from checking on the garden during the free time resultant from your Internet outage. Invite them in. You are expecting them, even if you do not remember.

Do not offer them food, water, or coffee—they are instructed not to take it, and this will make the situation uncomfortable for both of you. If you wish, you may look them in their eyes. Despite the rest of their outward appearance, you will see they have two, beautiful eyes.

Quickly they will set to work, repairing the machines that bring invisible electric signals into your home that help you and your family laugh, love, and share your lives with friends all over the world. Repairs will be brisk and complete, and you will never know the technician's name or have need of them again.

In the rare—very rare—event that your repair visit is somehow delayed, incomplete, or frustrating in anyway, please be assured that this has never happened before, nor will it again. The technician who disappointed you has already been vaporized in the shame chamber. Thank you for choosing Cable, Satellite & Internet.

Which cable provider vaporizes its most disappointing employees?
