In a Nutshell

Rick Ro$$ and a team of established and burgeoning hip-hop artists lay out hits such as “Hustlin’” and “Valley of Death”

The Fine Print

Touring musicians often form close bonds as they connect over shared musical influences and a love of drawing mustaches on their sleeping tour-bus driver. Witness the fruits of musical partnership with this GrouponLive deal to see The MMG Tour, featuring Rick Ro$$, Meek Mill, Wale, and more, at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento on Saturday, December 1, at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Choose between the following seating options:

  • For $30, you get one G-Pass for seating in sections 101–106, 123, or 124 (up to a $48.65 value, including all fees).
  • For $40, you get one ticket for seating in sections 107–110 or 119–122 (up to a $71.05 value, including all fees).

Because the ticket is a G-Pass, Groupon customers can use it to enter the venue directly; they will not need to redeem their Groupon at will call.

The MMG Tour, an event celebrating the achievements of the Maybach Music Group, corrals lauded hip-hop acts for a showcase of beats, rhymes, and swagger. Rick Ross, a Def Jam recording artist, skilled rapper, and founder of Maybach Music Group, appropriately headlines the night with a thunderous voice and intimidating stature. Ross began his formidable career as a key player in Miami's underground rap scene before his hit single “Hustlin',” from 2006’s Port of Miami, transformed him into a buzzworthy hip-hop heavyweight. Knowledgeable in the ways of lacing meaning into his beats, Ross fills tracks such as “B.M.F.” and “Valley of Death” with lessons—sometimes self-deprecating—learned from periods of his life, such as when he served as a correctional officer.

Before Ross commands the stage, volatile rapper Wale ignites the mic with his mighty lexicon and pulsating rhythms. A prized representative of Ross’s Maybach Music empire, Wale’s knack for infectious tracks and snappy syntax has led to mixtape mingling with Mark Ronson and Lady Gaga, BET's Best Club Banger Hip Hop Award for the collaboration “No Hands,” and the LP Attention Deficit. Hot off the recent release of his debut album, Dreams and Nightmares, Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill incites emphatic head-bobs to tracks such as “Amen,” “Burn,” and “Young & Gettin’ It.” Burgeoning hip-hop star Machine Gun Kelly also joins in the fun, captivating onlookers with a rapid-fire lyrical style that raises the roof and wrings tears from its architect.

Due to security restrictions, G-Passes must be printed out and presented in person at the event. They cannot be redeemed through Groupon's mobile app.

The Groupon Guide to: Making a Music Video

Music videos are short movies designed to add nonexistent layers of meaning to a song. Here's what you'll need to put together a hot, happenin' vid:

Costumes: The costumes are for the portion of your audience that doesn’t really care for music but goes insane for fashion hats.

Sets: Your sets should include a bedroom, a car, a farmers' market full of loose fruit you can accidentally knock over, a mall from the future, a room that's just full of shapes, and a cell-phone store where you can be filmed purchasing Vincinity's brand-new SuperGalactic Screenless 4G.

Backup Dancers: This group of sassy hard bodies will make you look like you know what you're doing by mimicking the dance moves you're inventing on the spot.

Hit Song: It might seem difficult to write a hit song, but it's not hard to write a rock 'n' roll cover of already-popular "We Three Kings."

I've never heard this version of "We Three Kings."
