The Scouting Report

Chasing their sixth-straight playoff berth, the Atlanta Hawks swoop into Philips Arena prepared to defend their home court against a slew of Eastern Conference and divisional rivals. The team has pushed to a 3–3 start on the young season, sitting at second place in the Southeast Division through six games. Hawks fans munch popcorn and sip sodas from lower- or upper-bowl seats as the hometown superstars seek crucial divisional wins against foes from Orlando, Washington, and Charlotte. When the coach calls a timeout to give the team a breather, fans can grab their binoculars and watch mascot Harry the Hawk soar through the stadium passing out high-fives and freshly caught rabbits.

Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks migrated to Atlanta from St. Louis for the 1968–69 season and have since become a venerated local institution. Though the Atlanta club has never claimed an NBA title, they've appeared in the playoffs 27 times since 1969, stamping their punchcard frequently enough to receive free hot dogs for the whole team during their next postseason appearance. Since 1999, the Hawks have perched in the rafters of Philips Arena, where more than 18,000 fans cheer them to victory in the Eastern Conference's Southeast Division.
