Equestrian skill was part of the chivalric code, helping medieval knights prove they were brave enough to lead a charge in battle and smart enough to transcribe their horse’s dictation without a translator. Witness ancient arts in action with this GrouponLive deal to see Cavallo Equestrian Arts, LLC presents Ma'Ceo 2013 at the Ocala Equestrian Complex. For $20, you get two general-admission tickets to a performance (up to a $42 value). The show runs from February 28 through March 3; check out the schedule here. The acrobatic Zoppe-Zamperla family draws on 167 years of showmanship and much older Cossack, Roman, and gypsy traditions as they and Cavallo Equestrian Arts' other performers tour the globe, standing, flipping, and hanging upside down on galloping horses. During Ma'Ceo, flamboyantly attired artists and acrobats along with their steeds execute amazing maneuvers amid acrobatics, music, and dancing beneath an enormous yellow big top rolled in from Italy. Spectators time-travel back to the age of gypsies, mystics, and spaceships made of wood as performers weave their equine synergy with spectacles such as juggling and stunts. The Zoppe-Zamperla brothers have also wowed national audiences with featured performances in movies such as The First of May and The Fisher King and at The Cheval Theater and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey's circuses.
