As Chicago emerges from its winter thaw, the White Sox slug their way into the 2013 season on the heels of a 2012 campaign in which they finished just three games behind the eventual AL champion Detroit Tigers in the Central Division. Last season the team walloped 211 home runs, third highest in MLB, contributing to the nation’s already crippling baseball shortage. During the first month of the 2013 season, the Sox will couple on-the-field muscle with off-the-field promotions, including a 1983 White Sox bomber-hat giveaway on April 6, and a postgame fireworks show on April 26.
