Cin City Burlesque – Seven Deadly Cins
"If we're going to hell," says Cin City Burlesque's Facebook page, "at least we'll go out with a bang!" In its latest show, the curvaceous troupe leads a sultry tour through the seven deadly sins—lust, gluttony, greed, pride, sneezing without covering your mouth, wrath, and sloth—with a healthy dose of light-hearted humor. Founder and bump-n-grind specialist Ginger LeSnapps leads the award-winning pack of classic and neo-burlesque dancers, who between them have expertise in pointe, tap, tango, fan dance, tassel twirling, and ballroom. As they heat up the stage with their celebration of debauchery and indulgence, they dazzle with sequins, feathers, and little else.
The Nordland Plaza Nickelodeon may have changed its name a few times in the nearly 125 years since its founding, but its reason-for-being remains the same: to keep Cincinnatians entertained. The theater began life as a vaudeville house, passed a few years as a German-film center, and eventually became a combination restaurant and venue. After a makeover and pep-talk in the 1980s, the modern-day Bogart's welcomes up to 1,500 audience members to its concerts, comedy shows, and burlesque performances. Within, six bars keep guests hydrated and the dance floor stays as packed as the events calendar.
