Before treatment, the physician performs a complimentary ultrasound session to map out the veins in the area. He then proceeds with the sclerotherapy vein-removal process, using a very fine needle to inject multiple veins with a solution that causes them to collapse and fade from view over time—three to six weeks for spider veins, or three to four months for larger veins. The remaining two treatments are scheduled at least two weeks apart.
