In a Nutshell

Buffet meal with local ingredients precedes concert with musical trio who blends country and bluegrass

The Fine Print

Nothing can match the thrill of seeing a concert in person, not even watching it on high-definition Blu-ray or listening to it on a high-definition parrot. Get out of your cage with this Groupon: for $15, you get a dinner-and-concert package on Friday, January 25 (up to a $30.99 total value, including all fees). The package includes the following:

Lead singer Hannah Blaylock; mandolin, banjo, and guitar player Cherrill Green; and guitar and dobro player Dean Berner are Edens Edge, a Nashville-based band with roots firmly planted in their home state of Arkansas. The trio—who ventured into the spotlight when they won a contest sponsored by CMT in 2006 and later toured with Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, and Reba McEntire—lassos the storytelling of pop country and the rustic twang of bluegrass. This sonic hybrid totes a sound that is simultaneously classic and novel, like a violinist who only knows how to play dubstep. During their live shows, Green and Berner masterfully play their instruments while seamlessly harmonizing with Blaylock’s clear soprano, which dips then soars over songs such as “Amen” and “Too Good to Be True.”

Edens Edge Performing Their Single “Amen” at Grand Ole Opry

Before the concert, ticket holders belly up to the sprawling buffet at Boiler Room Steak House, an eatery that houses a vintage train car. Here, they can dig into dishes the restaurant dubs “new Appalachian cuisine,” such as homestyle green beans, smoked beef brisket, and squash casserole, many of which are anchored by ingredients culled from local vendors.

Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts

The glass-lined facilities of Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts sit beneath the sprawling mountains of the same name, illustrating the blend of contemporary and traditional that come together inside the entertainment center. When entering the 1,500-seat building, visitors find themselves in a sunlit lobby with exposed brick walls, cozy armchairs, and plenty of windows that grant glimpses of the picturesque surroundings and eagles performing Shakespearean soliloquies outside. Further inside, the stage hosts countless family-friendly performances, from country-music concerts to dance troupes and musicals.

The Groupon Guide to: Famous Haunted Attractions

Many historical landmarks claim to have undead residents, but none are so infamously haunted as these famous destinations:

Winchester Mystery House
Built: 1884–1922
The Ghastly Details: Construction of the maze-like Winchester mansion was overseen by the widow of the Winchester rifle's inventor so that the restless spirits killed by her husband's creation could have a place to crash after their own haunted houses were ordered by the mayor to be blown up with dynamite.

The Ludlow Lighthouse
Built: 1790
The Ghastly Details: Said to have a will of its own, the Ludlow Lighthouse willfully misguided countless ships onto its rocky banks, killing hundreds of seafarers—thus tethering their spirits to the macabre monument and necessitating that it be blown up with dynamite in 1995.

The Carousel of Souls
Built: 1909
The Ghastly Details: After a mule unexpectedly kicked over a kerosene lamp onto a pan of waffle oil, this carousel is the only surviving structure untouched by the Great World's Fair Fire of 1909. Some say that late at night you can still hear laughter, leading experts to recommend that this obviously possessed attraction be safely dynamited later this month.

What are the most haunted locations in America, and what can be done about them? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
