The Scouting Report

In a patriotic blur of red, white, and blue, FC Dallas charges into its first two home games of the 2013 MLS regular season, including a match against state rivals the Houston Dynamo. Last year, star forward Blas Pérez marked his territory as an elite scorer during his first season in Dallas, netting a team-high nine goals and eight dreams, all of which came true. Pérez is joined on field by returning assist-leader David Ferreira and Dallas-native rookie Bradlee Baladez, as well as newly acquired forwards Kenny Cooper, who returns to FC Dallas, and Eric Hassli, a striker with experience on several French and Swiss clubs.

FC Dallas

As one of the original 10 members of the MLS when it began in 1995, FC Dallas has had plenty of time to build a few storied rivalries. Every year, the team faces off against its Texan brethren, the Houston Dynamo, and competes in the heated (and fan-promoted) Brimstone Cup with the Chicago Fire—a tradition ignited in the days when FC Dallas was known as the Dallas Burn. The shouted blessings of steadfast supporters echo among the 20,500 seats of FC Dallas Stadium, which has had attendance records broken last year and season ticket holders double each of the last two years. The club's stars dismantle opponents with the spectacular footwork that earned them a trip to the 2010 MLS Cup and an honorary stint in Riverdance.

The Groupon Guide to: Where Babies Come From

Having “the talk” with your child can be awkward—especially if your child is still too young to understand the nuances of human reproduction or, worse, is a giggler. Postpone the difficult conversation a few more months with one of these classic explanations about where babies come from:

  • Babies are dropped down the chimney by storks who swoop down and steal them from other families.
  • Babies are hatched from the cabbage patch, so if you think about it, eating vegetables is essentially cannibalism.
  • Babies are assembled at the hospital and wrapped tightly in a blanket until all the glue is dry.
  • When a mommy and a daddy love each other very much, their psychic harmonics produce an cytoplasmic egg that must be kept in a dark closet for nine months.
  • Babies are an invention of the celebrity-obsessed media to sell magazine covers of pregnant starlets.

Is it time to tell your kids the truth about where babies come from? Learn how with today's Groupon Guide.
