Silver Spurs Arena
Though it can house the cheers of 8,000 rodeo fans, the Silver Spurs Arena’s retractable seating and flexible flooring options make it easy to swap out bulls with horses, basketball players, indoor football players, ice skaters, BMX racers, cheerleaders, gymnasts, music festivals, and almost any other form of entertainment that can fit into almost 34,000 climate-controlled square feet.
The major highlights of the arena’s calendar is the semiannual rodeo and the annual Florida Cowboy Heritage Festival, which celebrates ranch life with a day of activities and contests, rodeo competitions, and local music. During the event, strong-wristed herders crack whips, artisans show off saddles, and gunslingers stage reenactments of cattle a real life cattle raid. Authentic camps of cracker cow hunters and Native Americans let festivalgoers participate in a living history lesson, while cowboy poets ponder whether a bull by any other name would kick you in the teeth as hard. In the evening, Silver Spurs Arena hosts teams of local wranglers who will tackle events such as bronco riding and relay racing.
