As the 2011–12 league champions, the Everblades look to hoist the Kelly Cup once again behind the efforts of such puck-guiding masters as Mathieu Roy, whose 26 points through 19 games this season places among the ECHL's top 10 scorers. Youthful left wing Matt Marquardt nips at Roy's heels with 23 points of his own through 20 outings.

The ECHL affiliate of both the Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes, the Florida Everblades never miss a beat. Since the team's inception in 1998, more than 3 million fans have helped the Blades lead the league in turnout five times—an attendance record the team has repaid by making the Kelly Cup playoffs every single season. After becoming the first team to reach the Cup finals in two consecutive years—'04 and '05—and falling short both times, the Everblades finally hoisted the trophy in 2012.
