High Notes Gala for Mental Health

High Notes presents a potpourri of classical music and contemporary dance to raise money for the Canadian Mental Health Association, hosted by Classical 96.3's Jean Stilwell. Guests can attend a complimentary pre-gala champagne reception at 7:30 p.m., and bid on items in a silent auction before the performance and during intermission.

The Performers

  • Cecilia String Quartet: Named for the patron saint of music, these four young musicians have won awards at competitions worldwide, and in 2010 earned top prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition.
  • Richard and Lauren Margison: The operatic father-daughter alternate rafter-rattling performances with more contemporary tunes, such as "The Prayer" and Lauren’s own songs
  • Sebastian Hirtenstein: Hirtenstein has trained extensively in street dance, and demonstrates his mastery of contemporary styles in his original piece Decide Soon.
