In a Nutshell

Mexican pop group from the ‘90s returns with a brand-new album of catchy, dance-floor-filling hits

The Fine Print

Old people probably like to stand near the speakers at concerts because the reverberating bass lines feel good on their bones. Catch the rhythm with this GrouponLive deal to see Sentidos Opuestos at House of Blues Dallas. For $20, you get standing-room-only general admission on Friday, March 29, at 9 p.m. (up to a $40.83 value, including all fees). Doors open at 8 p.m.

Singer Alessandra Rosaldo and songwriter Chacho Gaytán have come a long way since Sentidos Opuestos’ self-titled 1993 debut. Off that auspicious first album were “Historias de Amor” and “Escribeme en el Cielo,” two chart-climbing tunes that set the tone for their career: reluctantly romantic and irresistibly danceable. Their biggest hit to date took shape in “Amor de Papel,” an electronic ballad to the fragile yet persistent nature of love, especially when courting a paper doll covered in tape. Last year saw the release of Zona Preferente, the duet’s first new album in more than a decade, ushered in by “Dime,” a return to basics with a triumphant hook and intricately entwined synth melodies.

House of Blues Dallas

To keep the spirit of its musical roots ever near, House of Blues Dallas keeps a metal box of mud from the Delta Mississippi beneath its stage. Summoning the spirit and raw grit contained therein, local and national performers enliven the venue’s wood-laden auditorium, lined with art such as Alan Sainte James Boudrot’s A Dream Come True. The historic White Swan building, a remnant of the 1920s coffee-processing plant, hosts this mix of traditional and contemporary, adding its open architecture and thoroughly caffeinated phantoms.
