In a Nutshell

A skilled magician, assisted by glamorous dancers and willing audience members, performs death-defying stunts set to current pop music

The Fine Print

Magicians inspire awe by accomplishing feats that were once thought impossible, such as making an elephant disappear or watching C-SPAN for more than five minutes. Witness unimaginable stunts with this GrouponLive deal to see Illusions at the Starlite Theatre at the Riviera Hotel. Shows begin at 7 p.m. and run every day of the week, excluding blackout dates from Wednesday, January 16 to Friday, February 1. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Choose between the following seating options:

  • For $20, you get one ticket for general admission in the blue section (up to a $65.35 value, including fees).
  • For $28, you get one ticket for preferred general admission in the yellow section (up to an $88.65 value, including fees).

Illusions, which stars magician Jan Rouven, draws gasps from wide-eyed audiences with trickery and dangerous stunts that earned the production the top spot on Pocket Vegas’s Vegas Top 10 Shows. A playlist of current songs, including Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" and Katy Perry's "E.T.," pulses throughout the theater as Rouven and his five glamorous assistants perform jaw-dropping feats, such as escaping a water tank while handcuffed and chained to a light-sleeping shark. The illusionists also raise heart rates with stunts that call for audience participation, such as the hand stab, a Russian roulette–inspired game that requires a sharp knife and nerves of steel.

The Groupon Guide to: Monster Weaknesses

Everyone knows that the world is plagued with real monsters, from bullying to illiteracy—but the world is also plagued by even realer monsters, from vampires to swampmen. Fortunately, you can defeat any beast real or imagined with this list of their monster weaknesses:

Monster: Werewolves
Weakness: Silver. Although silver bullets are a traditional means of felling the feral beast, blindly chucking your grandmother’s jewelry into the forest will poison their habitat for generations.

Monster: Vampires
Weakness: Wooden Steak. The vampires will foolishly bite into the delicious-looking “steak,” thus breaking off their fangs and rendering them helpless.

Monster: Zombies
Weakness: Your Friend Who Has a Goatee. He has been training his whole life for this moment. Time to shine, Zachary.

What are some surprising ways to defeat a werewolf?
