According to Greek and Roman mythology, goatmen used to be everywhere, playing mischievous pranks and rocking out on the panflute. But not until Jim Breuer had a goatman, or in this case, Goat Boy, worked as an MTV VJ. This bleating, cackling character is one of Breuer's more famous creations, which he brought to life during his four-year tenure on Saturday Night Live. Then, capitalizing on his newfound celebrity, hooded eyelids, and malfunctioning cupcake oven, the Long Island–bred comic starred beside Dave Chappelle in the cult-classic movie Half Baked. He went on to chronicle his early life in the autobiography I’m Not High: (But I’ve Got a Lot of Crazy Stories about Life as a Goat Boy, a Dad, and a Spiritual Warrior), and currently hosts the satellite radio show Fridays With Breuer.
Despite his multi-media successes, Jim Breuer's home remains the stage, where he's clocked in over 20 years behind the mic as a standup comic. On his latest tour, Breuer cranks up the charisma as he toggles through anecdotes about his life as a family man, shows off his adeptness at physical comedy, and perhaps slips into impressions such as his signature Joe Pesci. Opener Rich Abonovitch, familiar to Fridays with Breuer listeners, exhibits a sharpened wit that scored him an LA Comedy Awards nomination for "Break Out Comic of the Year."
