What You'll Do
South Asian cuisine in particular is known for its seamless blending of bold flavors and spices—such as chili, saffron, and coconut—into one perfectly seasoned dish. Chef and Mumbai native Kavita Chambery knows how to harmoniously blend these classic South Asian flavors, and she imparts her wisdom during a cooking workshop where you'll craft butter chicken, bhindi (okra), dal makhani (black lentils), and jeera (cumin) rice. After creating the authentic meal from organic and grass-fed ingredients, you and your classmates sit down and savor your homemade dishes.

South Asian Culinary Expert
Born in India, Kavita Chambery grew up watching her grandmother cook South Indian cuisine in her childhood hometown of Mumbai. From a young age, Kavita learned to make traditional dishes such as chutneys and pickles—she even ground her own flour. Upon moving to the United States, she floored her friends with her culinary skills, and eventually started Saffron and Turmeric, which offers South Indian cooking classes and workshops.
